  1. correction they take 3 pics, front, back and top, the cameras are powerful enough to read the details from your licence disc as well so even covered plates are useless with the licence disc in the window. have a mate who setup the storage for the camers, each pic is roughly 70 odd Mb, super fine quality and worth a hell of a lot of money. someone should let the cANCer members and Nigerians know that, they will steal all the cameras and the problem will go away
  2. another prime example of SANRAL raping consumers and more underhanded thievery. should never have gotten an E-tag there mate. now they have you, just like a tv licence, even when you are dead they will want payment!!
  3. lol i did the same with some surgical tubing and a syringe plastic top to force some tubeless sealant into my road bike tubes that don't have removable cores
  4. hey guys was browsing pinkbike and came across this vid. have done many tubeless fittings both ghetto and actual tubeless rim and tire set-ups and always seem to mess some sealant. this vid makes a hell of a lot of sense and will definitely try on my next set. a lot of the stuff i already do but its the added small things that make sense to me. i know before anyone starts throwing thier toys that it wont necessarily work on every setup or set of circumstances but i think it is awesome information to have. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/331401/
  5. lol the weight weenies would object cause its going to "slow them down"
  6. congrats, coming down must have been awesome
  7. ed-zackery
  8. thats a *** attitude to have mate, thats like saying i dont want to go to pretoria cause i heard stuff got stolen. crime happens, golden rule be aware, proactive and as far as possible dont take chances. am willing to bet if he had locked the bike to the car they would have taken it anyway as the saying goes if they want it they are going to take it. locks etc are only going to slow them down not stop them if they really want soemthing.
  9. you can solve that with 2 cable ties. put one round the bottom of the head tube( as high up as possible) and one on the cable looping under the one on the head tube and the cable, pull tight as hell and the problem goes away. unfortunately the damage done already will have to stay.
  10. hmm i am a gopro fan but that VIRB looks awesome, priced to compete with the 3+ from what i can find, i think i would give it a go. only issue i can see is it being difficult to sell if you want due to it not being a gopro, but i guess thats the same with almost every camera out there that isnt a gopro.
  11. entered, i love that lid, uber excited!!!
  12. Also 27.5, 29 ers are gay
  13. Hmm, that sock runs at a very high pressure if I am not mistaken don't think you need to deflate but new personally I would just to be sure you don't end up with an explosion.
  14. fark that would scare me, electronics and violence dont mix well, imagine how that would get shaken to bits during a rock garden decent?
  15. i would put the saddle back on the bike if i was you from a medical standpoint no clue hope you figure it out, sounds unpleasant.
  16. patches my man you are a legend!!!
  17. learn to ride properly and this wont be a problem
  18. when you say catches the disc do you mean on the top/ edge of the disc or the actual breaking surface? if its the edge of the disc you are going to need to get a slightly bigger spacer to move the calliper away from the disc, if you mean the breaking surface and its catching evenly of both sides as opposed to just one side you are going to need to remove the pads, push the pistons out. try installing the pads again and pump the breaks until you have bite and the break performs as it should. if is only one side do as routjie said and you are golden.
  19. that has to be the dumbest design i have ever heard of, i agree with you the threads should be counter threaded so you can remove etc without destroying the whole unit. i suggest some red lock tight and prey you never ever have to remove the inner thread
  20. As for the op, name and shame, the owner may be within his rights but sounds like a complete dick move to me. I would take my money elsewhere and let them know why. You can't change people being idiots unless they know they are being idiots and it's costing them money in the process. Or just for the sake of having a fight which is why I would do it
  21. I Find this very hard to believe. I am not saying you are a liar but I know the guys pretty well and is not very likely that You would be ignored if you asked to see something in a display case. Sure they are busy and the first guy stating he would find someone else to help may have forgotten due to the demands of the customer he was with for a moment or 2 but being ignored after being pointed out does not sound like the store I know. I may be wrong though but definitely suggest you go back and speak to Nick or Dean even if just to make them aware. They are extremely customer focused and I am willing to bet they will do everything they can to make it up to you, even if it's just from a personal attention point of view. Just my 2c worth.
  22. lol CAAD perhaps they are trying to say that only gorillas need apply as its a bike for doing to stupid *** not multi-day stage races, nice that there are cage nuts should you want to use them though.
  23. Hey guys, ok so i have been bike shopping/ looking and need a little advise as i just cant seem to find much information locally apart from what the bike stores are telling me. i trust my LBS implicitly but need to do some checking as their opinion and advice may be slanted by the possible 40k bike sale. so my questions are, i know Rocky Mountain have a decent enough name overseas but i haven't seen very many here in SA. what are you opinions of them as a brand and are the bikes decent compared to the likes of Scott, Santa Cruz, Giant etc. does anyone know what the local support on the bikes is like, i know there are agents and components i can pretty much get from any LBS and am sure my LBS will do a warranty claim etc against shimano/ SRAM etc etc locally in the event of failure, but what about the frame and support thereof? for the price of 40k what would the other options be, initially i looked at the 2014 Scott genius LT, 170mm travel seems a bit much but i ride 160 now and am fine so don't suppose its going to be that different, the Altitude is 150 rear so i may need to get used to that as well. i really like the ride 9 feature that allows you to change the geometry and suspension to your riding style in more ways than i could have ever imagined but it may be too much and its a feature i am sure i could live without, do you think for an average non professional, i fall off ***, rider its too much choice? i see they have moved away from bearings on the rear linkage to bushings, i am not an engineer but surely they are going to need more maintenance than a bearing due to friction on the bushing causing wear? as i say just looking for some opinions and advice as for me 40k on a bike is more than i ever thought i would spend and its a hell of an investment( not from any other perspective than investing in my passion and enjoyment) thanks.
  24. thats not that steep, R20 a beer on a hot day in JHB is no worse than 15-20 bucks at a restaurant now days IMHO
  25. i find that price ok, i know its a little steep but as all have stated its a Sunday and it did save your race. me i would have lost a link and used an existing chain pin to macguyver a plan if the price was too high. but i am not a competitive oke and just the ride was enough for me! but on the note of being ripped off, did anyone see or have the misfortune of trying to buy a worse roll from vuyos van thing in the hospitality area?R40 for a single 15 cm worse roll and R10 for additions like onions etc.now thats ripping the ring out of it and taking advantage of people at an event if ever i have seen it.
