  1. Juniors bush tunnel, best piece of riding I have done in the last year, its pretty technical but can be pinned if you aren't scared to let go of your breaks in fact most of mankele is awesome
  2. nice review, will consider when I am next looking at tires.
  3. Sheesh I cant remember to be completly honest, was about a month or so ago at a guess, perhaps a little longer.
  4. Hey nofearnofun, yeah I get them from the boys at international trade, am not sure where else stocks them, have seen at mikes bikes before but dont know of the prices, I spend a lot of time on the spruit right round the corner from jason and Jacques office so for me it's easy to drop in on my way to work etc.
  5. definitely the Wierwolf, i like to know i am planted to the trail no matter what, the back of the bike slipping makes me nervous, i know the wolverine is a cx/am tire but the Wierwolf is, as they say, Aggressive XC / All Mountain / Enduro so i feel it would offer better grip.
  6. i made a move from my favorite tires of all( continental Mountain King 2 UST)to WTB bronsons recently, they are 2.3 but i swear they look bigger than my MK's at 2.4??so far they feel very similar in terms of how they handle, a little faster rolling which i put down to the closer tread pattern on the center lugs and very sticky compund.am looking to change to a WTB Wierwolf for the back but so far i love these. the move was spurred on by buying a set of conti MK 2 protection tires and fitting them as tubeless,*** idea i must say, they were almost impossible to seat, burped very easily and felt like they were flexing in the sidewall when cornering. that being said i burped the front clean off the rim on the trail and had to fit a tube and they felt like a completely different animal so perhaps the sidewall just doesn't like running as a tubeless setup??
  7. To be blunt no because a mountain bike should never bs riden on the road. Buy a road bike
  8. That chick is frikken insane, 96 down the side of a mountain with no breaks. WTF!!!
  9. i dont know that particular setup or bike but would suspect the shock is putting pressure on the bolt, try removing the shock first to lessen the pressure and the use a bolt or something similar in size to the one you are trying to remove to push it out, you may need to find a rubber mallet and gently tap to get it out. just dont use too much force as this will cause other issues
  10. I call bs from the lbs point of view, frames do have weight limitations but these would be the same for a 26 and 29 version of the same bike, within a slight variation, i.e the specialized camber which moved from a 26 wheels to 29 this year if I am not mistaken. Carbon has a much lower weight restriction than alu but again depending on the weave etc these vary, oh and dont foget price. As for being too big I suppose if he is Michael Jordan then yes otherwise just buy the correct size frame be done with it.
  11. damn it just just drooled all my coffee on the frikken keyboard damn sexy toys those
  12. question is were they hanging halfway down your ass? in so far as the toppie and what happened i think its absolutely disgusting, business in SA needs to learn that the customer is king, not always right but always king and this kind of behavior is unacceptable.
  13. yeah i know, they are busy with the product photos and marketing stuff at the moment, he actually shared the page with mates only but checked with him in terms of posting etc. just spoke to him he recons the web site will be up and running on Friday with plenty more details. if you want his contact details PM ill share, he is an awesome guys and super friendly so am sure he will help.
  14. lol you and me both, its a very cool system, fires a warning shot and if he carries on coming it shoots solid state military peper "spray" balls at 400ft per second, these can be changed i am sure but at that speed a glass ball or something would probably kill( so a great idea then)basically if he carries on coming he is going to ***
  15. a mate of mine has developed a tactical paintball gun with tracking and automated firing, filled with peper balls and soe other funky things i cant remeber. he is working on his web site at the moment but check our the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/theforcefieldsa?directed_target_id=0 if you want send me a pm and ill give you his contact details.
  16. You mean like this one droo
  17. try and find out, get a mate to catch the action on a gopro and post the vid for us, its either going to be educational or the funniest vid of the year
  18. thats just porn
  19. get the swat direct stream one, the cloud based ones are dangerous, if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction you are going to be crying. the direct stream shoots a red stream of the stuff about 8 feet or so, so you don't have to be in close contact. i have used mine once in a attepted bike jacking and almost felt sorry for the guy( almost when i stopped kicking the crap out of the ****), that stuff is proper woes!
  20. Use the Clarkson method, a hammer
  21. couldn't agree more, was looking quiet forward to the event but was sorely disappointed. while the stands that were up and the teams of people that represented their products were very well done i felt after the whole 30 minutes it took to see everything that my R60 could have been better spent.absolutely loved mikes bikes dinosaur though, very well done and cool.

    Amashova 2013

Did my first one today, have a couple of realisations. This is a hardcore race, much much much harder than the 94.7. Although the overall route profile is downhill it felt like all we did was climb. The headwind made the route feel like a 200km race. The cold was hectic, prepared for a durban ride and faced what felt like a joburg mid winter ride. Hands and feet went numb and the little bit of rain just made it worse. I loved it, climbed like a machine and droped plenty of people up every single hill, did however have to wait for my mrs, she bonked very badly at the 20km mark and hated the rest of the race. She did finish but was a 5 hour hard slog that she hated. Overall a great ride though, bit of a bad taste in our mouths due to the weather but that can happen in any race I guess
  23. Bwhahahaha I hit a tree at 45km/h give or take a bit, square into the hip, seriousely hurt lying on the floor swearing like blue murder, first thing I said was, I am f***ed hows my bike?
