  1. question is were they hanging halfway down your ass? in so far as the toppie and what happened i think its absolutely disgusting, business in SA needs to learn that the customer is king, not always right but always king and this kind of behavior is unacceptable.
  2. yeah i know, they are busy with the product photos and marketing stuff at the moment, he actually shared the page with mates only but checked with him in terms of posting etc. just spoke to him he recons the web site will be up and running on Friday with plenty more details. if you want his contact details PM ill share, he is an awesome guys and super friendly so am sure he will help.
  3. lol you and me both, its a very cool system, fires a warning shot and if he carries on coming it shoots solid state military peper "spray" balls at 400ft per second, these can be changed i am sure but at that speed a glass ball or something would probably kill( so a great idea then)basically if he carries on coming he is going to ***
  4. a mate of mine has developed a tactical paintball gun with tracking and automated firing, filled with peper balls and soe other funky things i cant remeber. he is working on his web site at the moment but check our the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/theforcefieldsa?directed_target_id=0 if you want send me a pm and ill give you his contact details.
  5. You mean like this one droo
  6. try and find out, get a mate to catch the action on a gopro and post the vid for us, its either going to be educational or the funniest vid of the year
  7. thats just porn
  8. get the swat direct stream one, the cloud based ones are dangerous, if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction you are going to be crying. the direct stream shoots a red stream of the stuff about 8 feet or so, so you don't have to be in close contact. i have used mine once in a attepted bike jacking and almost felt sorry for the guy( almost when i stopped kicking the crap out of the ****), that stuff is proper woes!
  9. Use the Clarkson method, a hammer
  10. couldn't agree more, was looking quiet forward to the event but was sorely disappointed. while the stands that were up and the teams of people that represented their products were very well done i felt after the whole 30 minutes it took to see everything that my R60 could have been better spent.absolutely loved mikes bikes dinosaur though, very well done and cool.

Did my first one today, have a couple of realisations. This is a hardcore race, much much much harder than the 94.7. Although the overall route profile is downhill it felt like all we did was climb. The headwind made the route feel like a 200km race. The cold was hectic, prepared for a durban ride and faced what felt like a joburg mid winter ride. Hands and feet went numb and the little bit of rain just made it worse. I loved it, climbed like a machine and droped plenty of people up every single hill, did however have to wait for my mrs, she bonked very badly at the 20km mark and hated the rest of the race. She did finish but was a 5 hour hard slog that she hated. Overall a great ride though, bit of a bad taste in our mouths due to the weather but that can happen in any race I guess
  12. Chat to these guys www.astroholdings.co.za they redid my bars, great guys and super helpful. Cheap as chips as well
  13. hmm here is my list. gravity rules. gravity is an evil bitch and always wins. what goes up must come down faster. hills suck to climb but are worth it. i didnt buy a MTB to get fit, i bough one to fall off **** gravity chicks are harder than most xc men. that vid has made me want to get out and ride rather than work.
  14. you do realize you have caused a problem in my life now, dont you. i need/ want some of those parts but cant buy locally until you sort a LBS, i am now stuck in a position of wanting something i cant have. FARK!!
  15. i dont think the question is aimed at blaming a supplier but more a curiosity thing, i am also very curious about what bike it is so i can google the seat clamp and see what cost R800 to get. also so i can avoid buying one if i am ever tempted.
  16. Nicko, take a look at the santa cruz nomad as well, its a slightly longer travel which makes initial peddling a little harder as the relaxed geometry is a challenge to get used to but when you are its awesome, at 160mm travel it makes for a much more "stupid" capable ride though.personally i think its pure pornography. oh available in alu or carbon for about the same price which is cool.http://www.santacruz...en/nomad-carbon
  17. Uh more like 2 and a half tons, but I get your point.
  18. hmmmm nice but the price is up again on the 3. all those bells and whistles come at one hell of a price.
  19. Get some lock on grips, problem gone.
  20. R300 but thats for the anodizing only, the sandblasting was also R300.probably another R300 odd for the logo work so about R900 from start to finish on the frame from what i can tell. maybe a little more or less but thats about where its at.
  21. flip ok cool will definitely give him a shout then. thanks.
  22. hey all, thanks for the replies, so here are my thoughts and what i have done so far.the cable guides have all been removed and ground flat. frame is a perfect SS frame now.the anodizing guys have suggested i keep the frame slightly rough as i prefer a matt look and the sandblasted texture works well for this. i am not really fussed as to how the branding comes out, would prefer to have nice and shiny but if it comes up black thats going to work just as well as it will match the wheels.am not to worried about the damage the sandblasting has done as the bike will not really take any punishment its a chilled play bike, i have my ransom for doing stupid *** on.V12man the gentle sandblasting is a nice idea and will probably give the desired effect but seems to be an expensive way to do it, its peoples time from what i can tell vs programming into a computer and letting it do the work. i may be wrong so will need to do some checking, please could you send on some details and ill give them a shout.have found guys that do lazer engraving on missiles so will see what they can do as well. i suspect that may be a little extreme but can only ask i suppose
  23. hey guys, ok so this is my SS project but will be moving what i learn to my Mrs's MTB when i am done depending on how it comes out. i had a Merida TFS300 frame donated to the cause and wanted a unique look so its been sandblasted clean and will soon be going in for a complete color( am going to have her anodized in either Red or Orange depending on how i feel on the day) now comes the difficult part. i want to have the Merida logo, branding and model etc lazer engraved back onto the frame after the anodizing but for the life of me am unable to find a company that has a rig big enough to take a bike frame, all the companies i have spoken to have a "table" that can take small things but not a frame. does anyone know if a company that does laser engraving that will be able to assist in the JHB area? any help would be greatly appreciated.
