  2. You can use the Thomson Elite setback, in the reverse position. This is from the FAQ on the Thomson site; Q – Can I flip my set back post around to be a “set forward” to use my road bike for triathlon? A – Yes you may. You may need to turn the top clamp to face the front of the bike for saddle adjustment. Hope you can solve the issue. Happy Hoopin

  4. Yep, the BIG problem there was that there was "not enough chain" on the cog. Had a similar issue before, and needed to remove some links. I guess why you "wanted" a longer chain was to accommodate more gear ranges. Just get anther chan, the 9spd ones are cheap enough. Schweeeeet ride. Happy hoopin

  6. To the OP, You have a SS specific frame, use it like intended. The rearward pull will tension your chain enough to have no slip. Enjoy the SS'ing. The least complex way to have the most fun. Happy hoopin
  7. Also, pos and neg chamber pressure difference (significant, like more than 15psi) can lead to an over or under "stance" of the shock. Do as mentioned above, let all the air out, pos and neg, COMPRESS the shock to force all the air out, depress the valves to let the compressed air out. Re-inflate to correct pressures and you should be set. Hope this helps

  9. Hi You are looking at two completely different products, yes both are bicycle chains, but different applications. The first a a 10 speed chain 1/2”x11/128” The 11/128" refers to the width of the chain, and is suited for 10 speed cassettes. The second is a single speed chain; 1/2" × 3/32" 3/32" is actually more 8/9 speed and used mostly for SS'ing. A REAL SS chain is 1/2" x 1/8", those are the FAT chains that lasts forever. Best practice is to match the chain and the cog in measurements. Yes, you can use a 1/8" chain on a 3/32" cog, but will wear faster. On the contrary, you cannot use a 3/32" chain on a 1/8" cog. Just will not fit. Hope this helps

  12. As I said, for my situation. However, you cannot argue the fact the NO OTHER bike shop is "allowed" to work on your Spez, besides a Spez shop. So my statement stands, if you do not live within a reasonable distance from a Spez store, think about your purchase.

  14. I think Spez bikes are awesome, on the following conditions: -You have plenty of $$$ -You live withing a 10km radius from a Spez store (concept store). My biggest gripe is that ONLY Specialized stores concept stores can / are "allowed" to work on the bikes suspension (shock and fork) and the linkages. For me, who lives 150km from the closes store, NO GO. Also, the services are NOT cheap!!! Most of the other bike brands, a PROPER bike shop can help and do the repairs / maintenance locally without sending it all away to an "authorized" service center. Also, spares is always an issue (well as far as my experience goes) unless you are a sponsored rider and all is kept aside for you. What I LOVE about the Santa Cruz bikes, is that for most of the service intervals it is as easy as popping the supplied grease gun (nice touch) onto the zerk fittings, and pump the bearings full of clean grease. For me, between the Spez and SC, SC all the way. (unless you are a Spez sponsored rider, or willing to wait a week or so for spares)... FIRE-suit on

  17. My comment more about the Niner EBB; I have a NINER Air 9Carbon, and ABSOLUTELY in love with my bike. The Niner EBB gave me grey hair, in the sense that it creaked and slipped. The maintenance on this killed me, as I needed to re tighten after every ride. With the Niner EBB I tried all 9 different methods of fitting, the carbo-grip option, the carbon assembly paste option, the plumbers tape option (this one, I got an even thicker plumbers-tape, and that was the closest I got to a slip and creak free EBB) Now, I got tired of the hassle, and after some hours of research, I made contact with some guys in the US. Bought my new Bushnell EBB about a year ago, fitted with a shim (for the niner's shell diameter) and a endless care free, creak free, adjustment free riding. They have 2 models. I opted for the "retro" older one, as then the expanding force pushes out along the full shell vs the full EBB circumference, vs just the "shoulders" of the skeletonised "featherweight" EBB option. Loving it, and now I have a TRULY "maintenance free" bike in my SS.
  18. I guess do it NOW!!! I sell stuff regularly on the Hub, and on 2 occasions I have seen this MO; Potential buyer responds immediately, and shows interest. So keeps you on a line, so I "lost" potential real buyers. Then, just no more contact or feedback. This person is just offline and not available and do not respond to any communication. My rule is, if you could reply on the same day RE an ad, and then not conclude the sale in a day after that, I move on to the next interested party.
