  1. Not really worth getting into, is it? More important is where'd my worm icon go and who put this blokes face here?
  2. Maybe but I always keep a couple spare to put round the bottles - clever eh? AND I've never fallen over carrying a pineapple, maybe there's a business, right there.
  3. Eissh thanks for the advice, clearly my mistake.
  4. Clearly its all a fraud. I've had dozens of those yellow bands & I still fall over.
  5. We had 3 take off at the side of the road driving through the Tete corridor in Mozambique. Hit the last one with us going maybe 100kmh. No damage to the car, but by the time we turned round and went back to have a look someone had got there first and taken it.

    Cricket......

Imo SA cricket is in disarray (Sunfoil?). If the organization is unstable, then the undoubtedly talented team will produce erratic results.
  7. Yeah, that one is also a bit brown at the front
  8. Or Bobbie Adidas (sorry, holiday fever..........i need a doc - Doc Holiday*? Gonna lie down now). *from Gunfight at the Ok Corral but might be spelt different.
  9. That's a really great feel-good picture AD. (um but that bit by the bike tyres, it looks brown )
  10. I think there are too many variables for you to achieve your aim this way. I would rather say work hard on the gym bike 2 - 3 times midweek, and then track your progress on the same road route each week at the weekend. Sorry if thats a Flintstones' low-tech approach. Accurate power measurements v difficult to get, unless you spend the money on a proper power meter. Otherwise the measurement is only useful for comparisons for your performance on a specific machine.
  11. +1 I'm sure Wesbank Raceway was R20 & that got redeveloped 5 or 6 yrs ago. Kyalami are a business, charging for their facility, and R15 or R20 seems pretty damn reasonable.
  12. In the days before digital, me and the Mrs went on a ski-ing holiday and fell in with the group at the ski-school. On the last day we were displaying our new-found skills & I took pictures of everyone in action; with names and addresses from several different countries, promising to send on the photos. When I got back I had difficulty opening the camera, so took it to the (busy) shop where they put it in a special black bag to feel around & sort out the problem. Well the Mrs was out the door with embarrassment before the shop assistant completed the sentence.... "I'm sorry sir, there doesnt appear to be any film in here".
  13. Oh, that sounds like all day then.
  14. What time is it on?
  15. That got a genuine lol from me. And when I phoned a friend with babelas to tell her this news she said: "but why are you concerned about little people". Wadevile's gene pool, I tell you - its not getting any better.
  16. No, its not a time trial so there's all kind of assistance from whatever groups you find. There's only one male bunch and one female bunch riding for the race win. If you're not good enough to get in that bunch you're not in the race even if your overall time is faster. Point is, if you were put in that bunch, you wouldnt have won.
  17. Couple of things - Amoryns is a lady rider. An early post said that there were two ladies on single bikes in HH going very strongly. On the tandem theory - if she was riding a tandem it could have been that she was wearing a chip; but her partner not. Quite a few possibilities
  18. Lots of things are possible but it's pretty mean to talk about cheating and dishonesty without any basis. Hey - her surname is Karjiecker, that sounds like "car-jacker" to a pom, is it possible she stole a car halfway round and put her bike in the back? It takes 4-6wks to ratify the results, i'm sure they'll work out what happened during that time.
  19. A monkey with a typewriter could do better than this; but hey-ho we know what you meant. I am going to see if its a good goodie bad or a bad goodie bad later.
  20. You'll probably find that people riding against the traffic find it's their time to go earlier than those who don't.............Good.
  21. Nice one Taps - great story, action, comedy, pathos, drama. We're just missing the romance. umm..........How was the lady in the oncoming car swerved on the verge? Great post, thanks.
  22. The title and OP were confrontational, so there was confrontation - its how we roll Then the tide turns and there's some sympathetic stuff. Followed by a random free-for-all. Wake me up at the end. Replacements are always a ballsache for the lbs & there's nothing in it for them, so there isnt a lot of pressure in the system, regardless of brand.
  23. I dont think it matters very much. The market for this stuff is very small, compared say to football shirts. Also the buyer has a problem - if the quality isnt good they wont enjoy the shirt which has to do a job. A soccer shirt you just need the name as 90% are worn by non-players. I dont know the licencing rules for every cycling shirt & wouldnt be fussed to find out - maybe some are illegal some not. I think that people wearing a team's kit but not riding the team's bike brand looks pretty silly. I think someone buying a decent bike brand and going cheap on the matching kit is, well........cheap. All in all - storm, teacup, pedantry.
  24. I'm 46.5 and my dad died at 47 of a heart attack. There is no "good way to go" at this age and our options are not limited to "fading away in an old-age home". Or maybe I should start liquidising my food now. sheesh, this wasnt a good post. I would leave a widow after 25yrs of marriage and 3 kids including an 8yr old. There wouldnt be any warm glow if i died on my bike rather than in my sleep. Condolences to those left behind.
  25. And don't miss next week's episode of Curiosity Killed the Cat where we'll be asking: How big is your willie and how often to you have sex.
