  1. Supplying school kids with steeds, now that's ayoba!
  2. "Garmin accuses Bryton’s products of mimicking the appearance and functionality of Garmin’s popular Edge® cycle computers, resulting in the infringement of Garmin’s design and utility patents." That's a bit broad and unspecific maybe? So by the same logic, no two water bottles should look or function in similar ways? Anyone that's used an HRM would know that the major brands more or less look and functions work in a similar way by the very nature of the product.
  3. Ooohhh, I'd tap that!
  4. Just hope it's not the pair that refused to walk into the bike park because of 'snakes' ..... Good though Sean, you deserve fare more recognition and support for everything you're doing!
  5. Yowser Ya but Dischem buy in the kind of bulk that LBSs and most small shops can't. Most of their stuff is cheaper, although Springbok Pharmacys is also quite nice. Not mine, maybe you should wash charna!
  6. Aw you okes
  7. Take a candle stick and try working it around the pedal area. Been doing this for a while on my Shimano pedals once or twice a week, works like a charm. If it's a particularly wet and muddy ride I spray them down with a spot of wet lube. @Gunzo: hey shot for that, made for interesting reading.
  8. At least you have some recourse, try and get replacement lenses for Carrera glasses! It's like pulling teeth just to get a response from the manufacturer!
  9. See Lake shoes will be coming back onto the local market as well. Had those a while ago and they were one of the best pairs of shoes I'd owned. Wondering if they are still as worthwhile.
  10. Try JAG .... They brought him out here originally http://www.jagfoundation.org.za/
  11. But wuz you offended? Naw, you're just offensive ....
  12. Bloody good bikes and backup to boot.... geometry has been tweeked nicely and they come specced really well for the price!
  13. Erk ... not today unfortunately. Thursday outings seem to be fizzling....
  14. A poorly written brief for sure, although don't think it's a wind up though or an attempt at getting pros or serious amateurs for free either. Mind you, it is kinda odd that one is expected to have an iPhone4 of their own. Most likely it's some form of promotion, more for the iPhone product than anything. Something like this would be well suited to students or something along those lines. A well known photographer of high calibre, Chase Jarvis runs a blog with some of the images he captures with the iPhone. Some of them are really great! http://blog.chasejarvis.com/blog/2009/04/iphone-photo-of-the-week/ Obviously he doesn't use it for work, but I think the blog is to prove that a camera is just one small tool in capturing an image and that sometimes capturing the right image is about having fun. Ok I veered off on a bit of a highjack there
  15. A jock on one of the radio stations mentioned this morning that considering how sick and poorly Shaik proclaims to be, the only way he could be claim to be credible or have any integrity, would be to actually die.
  16. Damn, this whole topic has derailed in the most classic sense ....
  17. Reminds me of when there was a whinge fest of note over the very first cover shot for BicyclingSA, complaining about her zipped open top and that she couldn't possibly be a 'real' cyclist! That shoot was actually sparked of her interest in cycling and she's now an avid cyclist. Go figure hey.
  18. +1 .... Some folk are very quick to jump on the band wagon and slag her off. More lame than the actual article.
  19. Thats what happens when you pay people properly who do a proper job. Good work to Gary Perkin and co.
  20. If 2009 is anything to go by, this will be a whopper .... plus it's my birthday on the 23rd, so intend to go all out that weekend
  21. The responsibility sits with whomever the broadcaster is providing the signal. Regardless of who films. You'll find a lot of broadcasters all over the world outsource camera work.
  22. Nothing to do with the cameras, it was the signal..... Seems like they compressed the hell out of the broadcast Camera work was shoddy, the final 15minutes of the elite men and we're getting shots of the ground, sky and one or two abstracts of the mountain with one or two riders in the bottom right of the frame. Exposures also were way out. Seemed to be a fair bit of mist as well but still. No finish line camera either, just an angled shot that showed the sponsored banner more than anything else. If the the ToSA was anything like this, poor!
  23. Have to say this has been my experience as well, when commuting by bike I generally find them more accommodating than most other road users. Lately even when I've been driving TAXI guys seem to swing from the one extreme to other though, no middle ground in behavior.
  24. Yeah? How much is that again?
