  1. Lumo spit for lyf!
  2. Saturday was a bit of a sting alright. Went way better than the MM 8 though!
  3. YES! Had two pairs of their bibs a while back, supremely comfortable. Lost one at an Air BnB drycleaners and the other during a 'dirt quality check' on the trail. Their tops are some of my favourite, great cut and fit without too many gimmicks. Plus they last, still have some my Tread MTB tops. The Enjoy Climber bibs are right up there for me, chose a size too tight I think. But they are so good on long days, hot or cold. Between Enjoy and Ciovita I'm really happy with the quality and comfort of their stuff, come along ways. Imho they represent the better options of what's locally available. Anatomic get a bad rap but the stuff is decent and despite some small details I don't like, there are some gems in the range. Especially with the wind/rain shell jackets and gillets. Velotex finishing quality is much improved but the design is very dated unfortunately. Carry stock of both and unfortunately just doesn't move. FA and CS, don't even go there!
  4. That's a shame, was about to speak to them and place an order for shop/Munga kit. Was also looking at Enjoy or BioRacer.
  5. Try Des from Token Sports. Their turn around and pricing is really good, quality seems top notch as well.
  6. I've generally been loath carrying a hydration bag. Camelbak is always a safe bet, but Osprey and Thule have also put out a range that gives Camelbak a serious run. https://www.thule.com/en/za/bike-accessories/hydration-packs Titan also do some quality stuff at a good price. https://titanracingbikes.com/product/hydroport-1-0/ https://titanracingbikes.com/product/hydroport-2-0/
  7. East Rand side? I'm in Bedfordview and have stock, off the top of my head, R340.
  8. Are the Aero bolt on bars now in stock? Paid a few weeks back for Ride Farr bars, pads and the aero bolt on bars are on back order.
  9. I have an old(ish) one that I'd probably part with. Think it needs a battery.
  10. At school level it makes more sense to have track/crit racing as a foundation.
  11. That is nice and neat. I just tie a plastic Mica/Checkers/PickNPay bag around the rotors. Also works well and is quick and easy. Not as neat though.
  12. When washing hands after a job, add a teaspoon of sugar. Makes for a good scrub to break up grime/dirt and isn't caustic on the skin.
  13. If you dont have access to an air compressor. A ziptie or plastic sleeve with a squirt of water.
  14. Still one of the best workshop hacks. Simple and straight forward task that too many people try complicate into some kind of dark art form.
  15. Plenty safe. As mentioned be sure to let someone know about your ride though and eta. Still pretty remote with some proper descents. Worthwhile activating Beacon on Strava or using an emergency app like MySos.
  16. So much to discuss. But speaking from some experience at least. You need to have a plan on how to sell it and at the very least for it to be able to pay for itself. Passion is great, but if your project is unable to be self sustaining then it is a vanity project. Be open to approaching and partnering with existing media platforms.
  17. Chaoyang Viper, 35c or Kenda Flintridge Pro 700/40c Been running the Kenda Flintridge for a while now and I love it. Fantastic all rounder for road, gravel and commuting at a decent price.
  18. It isn't about the 'story' it is about the work and impact from Qhubeka (and RBC) as a whole which is actually a key part of DD's involvement. So yes the pressure is on Doug and the team to perform, but the connection is an intrinsic part of the team/sponsorship programme and doesn't paper over anything.
  19. Well a bike race is a business. But this is only really a race for the full licence folk which gives it some flair/houding. For most though it's a timed mass participation event, more power to them. 40km route is a good idea imho, makes the event and cycling a bit more accessible to the masses.
  20. Agree that some of the signage is cluttered and could do with better placement/alignment. That said this is a pilot project and for me I noticed those three arrows straight away in the picture. I don't think there can really be any blame on the builder's part. So yes perhaps there is room for refinement and implementation, which is why this is a pilot project. But it also upto the rider to be riding within themselves. Given the accessibility of the Spruit and high usage it has a pretty good safety record.
  21. Maybe so, but at the end of the day why? It's about the team selection and who is going, imho the defensiveness around this is nonsensical.
  22. Yeah they do e-bikes and all. Remember that, he came and did a group ride with Lyndhurst Cycles and signed some cards. Still have one somewhere. Recall him coming 11th on his MTB? Back when the full sus wheeler had these weird elastomer donuts on the rear. Can still follow him here: https://twitter.com/benekejurgen?lang=en Loves his van life builds and had a copyright fight a local SA light brand.
  23. Who remembers Wheeler Bikes? ... Were a player in SA in the 90s. We even had our own local legend racing the world cups for Wheeler then, Greg Miller. He's one of the lead motorbike sweeps at Cape Epic and runs a baiker training centre.
  24. Noice. I had a Schwinn Moab ST for a while. Served me well!
