  1. I agree with the last few guys. I have been a loyal MSC customer for 4 years now and they have looked after my road and mountain bikes very nicely in that time. The shop was closed for a few days last week as the whole gang was doing the Sani2C. They will definitely not stiff anyone....except maybe themselves without knowing it. Oh, and it is Kirk and Colin, not Kurt.
  2. Rudy Projects are awesome, particularly the Rydon which I ride with.Their prescription inserts work extremely well, and can be clipped out of one frame and into another. If you shopping for glasses, this is the way to go!!

    My Ride!

Just pciked up the helmets and SportsMasks - along with the shoes the Elites are not gonna know what hit them!! Pantani would struggle to fit in on this team! Did you guys go for the red and black Actyum helmet with the black Sportsmask with red lenses? If so.... AWESOME COMBO!!!
  4. You should definitely check out Rudy Project. The Rydon is an awesome frame, with adjustable nosepiece as well as temples and a whole slew of lens options.
  5. They are 2km down the road on the right towards the highway. Nice big new shop. Number is 011 807 8462.
  6. Are these Engen classic rides... or u guys in CT... 'cos Tuesdays ride in JHB was hard!
  7. The guy in the accident was the father of one of my wife's colleagues...and it is very serious. He is gonna be in ICU for a week, has a broken pelvis i think....and obviously is not going on the family skiing holiday that was coming up in a few weeks. Is it true that nothing at all will happen to the motorist at fault??
  8. I think it was 2 years ago at the Liberty Ride for Sight that the entire VA bunch got disqualified after being warned and then still crossing the white line en masse. I think this is the way things should operate. It only really happens in the super-competitive bunches anyway... there is no way a guy in the H-bunch is gonna cut a corber like that to save a few seconds.
  9. Thanks Cois... nice to see pics of a wider variety of the participants. Damn... I shoulda done it!
  10. Photo fairy.... you legend! So cool to see pics of an event that just finished a few hours ago. Awesome work....although quite heavy on TCS members, but that is your main focus I am sure... so no worries. Thanks again. I am disappointed I was not a part of the event this year.
  11. I somehow don't think that Intense Spider falls within The GT's budget of R7500, and i think he is limiting his choices to GT. I would spend the extra 3 or 4k and go for the base model I-Drive 4.
  12. CrankBrothers quattro pedals are awesome ..... also double sided entry... easy in-and-out... good platform size. You can't go wrong. Also, they don't like like all other pedals on the road.
  13. I am in Sunninghill , and would be up for a ride every now and then. Road or MTB?
  14. I say Cannondale too. Looks like you have a winner!
  15. Specialized gets my vote too here. Damn, I wish i had to deal with having to make choices like these.
  16. Fizik Arione = The best, and, by the look of things the most popular saddle on the SA roads the last year... everyone's got one.
  17. Now I wish i broke my frame on the indoor trainer and had 17k to find a new one. Buying a new bike is the BEST!!
  18. Ja, i think you must decide which info you want... this mornings, or this afternoons. I also had a 520, and that is the same issue that irritated me enough to get a 725x...even though i think the Garmin 305 is awesome!
  19. I fully agree... building that relationship with your LBS is worth a lot more than a little saving here or there.
  20. It is an awesome day....and how many cyclists are out on the roads in the morning!!?? Absolutely hundreds on the JHB morning route today. Awesome.
  21. Tjokkits... the prescription goes in a metal insert that clips in behind the lenses on the nosepiece, and is interchangeable between different models of Rudy's.
  22. Rudy's with clip-in prescription: the prescription lenses are made and mounted locally, quickly and cheaply. The coloured lenses are still interchangeable, and I don't lose my prescription. The prescription lenses fit in multiple Rudys (I have two pairs) AND, they fog a lot less than my old Adidas stuff. This is a wise man speaking. You cannot go wrong with Rudy's... particularly if you need prescriptions.
  23. I thin it was 2 years ago at the Ride for Sight... they DQ'd the whole VA bunch for riding over the white line. They were warned a couple of times, and then that was it.
  24. Check out Rudy Project's new Sportsmask Performance... they have a unique brow interface, which really minimizes the chances of fogging. Mauricio Soler wore a pair in the TdF... check all the pics of him winning that mountain stage.
  25. Damn... now that baby looks good. Any guesses on when it will be available, and what it will retail for? Wow!!
