  1. Short back long arms makes for a good weightlifter ,or so i heard. Then you can also scratch in places......
  2. What are you doing on that scale? Weighing myself. . WHY? My BMI is a bit over and I'm going for my Vitality thing , and.....and.... AND WHAT???? I uh.... I... uhm...want to be a better climber. A better climber ? A better climber ,are you serious? You are always at the back. You get dropped by fat people and old women, AND YOU WANT TO BE A BETTER CLIMBER???? You think I want to be married to a skinny little boy ,huh? Get off that scale NOW!!!!!!!!
  3. Not sure if this is right, but as I always understood it the gutter is a bad place to be. Wind from the side , work together by forming an echelon (abreast to the side of each other ) and then you put the weaker guys in the gutter ,which is the long exposed tail forming behind . The place where I normally find myself. I had a nice race in BL.Nowhere near the front.
  4. http://healthimpactn...-fat-nutrition/ Sweden has become the first nation in the world to officially adopt the LCHF diet and prescribe recommend it to their citizens.
  5. See the link to the road race says no pick up Sunday at the venue. Can somebody confirm this and if so why? Why should a person who stays in Vereeniging have to drive all the way to Fourways to collect a number? Can we collect on Sat at the venue? We did last year. And even so it makes no sense to do the trip once on Sat and again on Sunday.
  6. I am 1.71 tall ,or shall I say short. And weigh 72 kg . I e mailed them my stats and they suggested medium . They were willing to exchange if returned unused. My fit was fine . You can speak to the owner. Ricky, if I recall correctly.
  7. www.enjoyfitness.co.za. You order online. Very reasonable prices. The quality is good . You will do entire races and long rides on them. Got myself a midrange pair at way under a thousand rand a year ago and they're still in good condition.
  8. And just what do you base this statement on ?Edit: Road past the blockhouse was recently resurfaced and in good condition. Saw a rather well known member of Team Sky using it just yesterday. I don't think the organizers of either race wants it turned into a who's best contest. I'm entering both. Nog n edit: Remind myself to chill a bit. Welcome to join the groups, there are some nice routes out our way.
  9. Ragel ,when she's not chewing plants or towbar wires. She's not allowed on the furniture but always takes a chance.
  10. Don't mean to hijack , but I was about to post for help when I saw this thread. Also SLX. Also rear . New bike only done a couple of rides . I have no stopping power at the back, only a screeching noise. When I pull the brake it looks as if the rear disc is being pushed to the outside. Could it be that the piston on the left (that pushes from the outside in )is not coming out properly? I hope I'm making sense here. Bike shop will look at it but I cannot get to them now.

  12. Upholstery for the seats of your Boksburg Ditsem Datsun.
  13. Would be nice to ride a Argus sub 3.But that kit is so ugly. If they made it compulsory riders will all hit the brakes other side of Suikerbossie.
  14. With this thread I learn new things every day.I find re- recordings of songs interesting. You associate a song with a band, when it's actually the work of somebody else. Recently learned that Black Magic Woman by Santana was originally done by Fleetwood Mac . In the late 60's they were a very different band playing mainly blues.
  15. The original Behind Blue Eyes by The Who ,on their album Who's Next has a kickarse little piece of rock near the end. When my fist clenches cut it open before I use it to lose my cool. When I smile tell me some bad news before I laugh and act like a fool. And if I swallow anything evil stick your fingers down my throat. If I shiver please give me a blanket, to keep me warm let me wear your coat.
  16. Eish. Yes Thanks
  17. The Lone Ranger is captured by some Indians."Before you die ,one last wish ", says the chief. Lone Ranger whistles ,Tonto comes trotting along. He whispers something into the horse's ear. Tonto gallops off ,comes back an hour later with a sexy barmaid on his back. "What a brave man you are Lone Ranger . A woman. In the face of death?" "Uhm Chief.... do you mind if I have another word with my horse please?" "You bloody fool I told you to fetch a POSSE!"
  18. Half ses op Sat oggend van Shell in Voorbaai af. Praat met Marius by Monties Cycles in Mosselbaai.
  19. So how did it go? Did you ride? Just asking , as I had a ride with the guys from Voorbaai weekend before. Nice coffee afterwards. Best part is when you ride your bike right into the shop, through the self opening doors. Lekker . Dankie ouens .
  20. There goes your hosepipe, cycling shoes , mudflaps , water bottles, towbar wires..................
  21. Did it Saturday morning. It was hot. That last hill always gets me as well. Reminds you where you are riding ,one last time. My speed up that hill is called NVO.(Net voor omval.) Edit: Blue, at first I thought you were talking about that little bl***sem right at the end ,before you head to the car park.
  22. There was a thread about this somewhere.
  23. A few months ago during a midweek afternoon ride, I noticed some sort of filming going on at the museum . Coming back on the last km I was stopped by a guard and asked to wait. After 10min or so I was told I could go, only to see somebody on the set waving his arms frantically and telling me to stop. I Shouted back that I'm tired and it's only two minutes to the car park anyway. So last night I stumble across Donkerland on Kyknet .I've only heard of this historical drama but never watched it. And the farm is none other than the museum at SBR. So if there is a heavy dark family scene, with a tired looking guy on a old Raleigh swearing in the background . PM me I want my name in the credits.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

Maybe I should've added that mine normally rings on that hill.In my own experience the just over 30 km/h average in the local races has never been good enough to even get me to a sub 3.30.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

A guess. Your three hour bell will ring just as you crest Suikerbossie.
