A chap I know raced one of those Lauf forks in XC races 2 or 3 times ... he said there's a reason it's called 'lauf', run in German cause you'll be doing a lot of that His comments were that they are flexy, wander all over the place and that for today's XC courses not enough travel. As mentioned over 'gravel' type courses he said they are bloody fantastic and the lightness is flippin amazing I'd love to have a go on one ........ for my type of riding it'd be perfect 😎

To my mind though many of those 'speculating' her do so purporting it to be fact .... in their minds at least 😜

The last ride with my boet before they went back yesterday. Been a privileged 3 weeks of riding with him almost every day! He specifically wanted it to be a '3 speed' ride... I invited another singlespeed fan who was an ex 'PPL pilot' mate of his he hadn't seen in years.

I trust only 3 wheelbuilders that I know and I know a few .... Wyatt is one, another is my ex-SIL the original proprietor of Just Cycles and lastly the Grumpy one! I ride quite a few of my own 'home built' wheels but I wouldn't dare even think about letting someone else ride them, knocking my own teeth out that's one thing 🤪

I have to just chuckle when I see the anoraks 'debating' these things .... so the next frame I buy, for the next while anyway, do I have to choose if its SRAM or 'traditional' and stick with that? Nah they know what they can do with that idea, to me anyway

Why walk when you can ride! 2 weeks of riding with my boet here from the land of the long white cloud on holiday has done me a world of good. One week still to go 😁 Track bikes and track riding to be treated with the utmost respect, on the rare occasion it throws you off it WILL hurt, a LOT 😏

I don't really bother weighing my bikes since my weight problem has nothing to do with them. To my mind though saving weight on the bike may seem significant as a percentage of its weight but is pretty much insignificant when seen against the total weight you're having to haul along and uphill ... as said unless you're already at 0% body fat it's probably the better place to start. Having said that a light bike is a bloody lekker thing to have and ride!

I know I'm a bit Grumpy but because of loadshedding I missed the end of the ladies Strade Bianche and all of the men's ... only thing I'm disappointed about is not seeing Puck get 6th!
