  1. Amateur - what time you intend leaving Panorama?
  2. Only used it at multi-day events, specially if 1 or more of the days are wet ... Used the 'own developed' one they sell at Just Cycles Alberton. Feels rather strange when you put the pant on, almost like you have poohed yourself but soon 'settles' in. Have never broken wind in it so can't verify Etwerps evaluation!
  3. Surely not mine Hagar ........... or was it the noboby got laid using Shimano comment? Guess I better change it and take no further part in such discussions?
  4. Must concur with Spidey, re-lubed at SabieX on day 3 in the mud at least twice. It comes to a point where you can even hear the chain grinding away! Having said that I have also re-lubed in very dry conditions before where lube was offered at a watering point.
  5. Jules - how much dat Motorex stuff? Have heard other good reports as well!
  6. Hey Sweez - isn't the 'fohn' also supposed to be the cause of headaches for the Germans? Or was that an excuse to take a day off?
  7. And if it doesn't break at the powerlink? It rarely does I would imagine!
  8. Parra - I carry one of those RAV-X tools that is just a chain breaker/spoke tool and 5mm allen key (flat and easy to carry!). Like you say I have had the occasion (PMB XC national 2007) to break a chain and have to remove the left over offending bits and fit an SRAM powerlink. In fact that chain still has 2 powerlinks!
  9. Last time me and LBB saw Etwerp he had so many lights on (bike and helmet, front and back) we were scared planes may land on us thinking it was a landing strip or something!
  10. I got a Toppeak Alien for Xmas 2006 (tks MrsBen), no problem but did go through 2 or 3 of the cheapies before that
  11. My pleasure! I been waiting since September for it to be released ........
  12. For those of you using the beta of V2.0 of SportTracks, the official version 2.0.2948 is available. Also lots of other bug fixes and enhancements. Timex Data Recorder import now supported whooohoooooo !!!!!!
  13. Hey Mints, LittleBen has also moved to the 'captains' albeit from CrossMarks and he agrees very much with your experience! They'll be my next tyre as well. Also well priced!!!!
  14. I'd rather discuss the age old question of is Shim ....bett .....than kem ........ flippin moangatte lately, every other topic negative but ja and I stated this before it is as Spidey and HR and others noted the way of the hub these days. Oh for some useful cycling subjects, comeback JB all is forgiven ......
  15. Uuuuuhhhhmmmmmm OK so you firstly remove your chain pro......... oh wait no it's the roadbike, lets see Have you always had that or only since you been riding the bike in the wet the last while? I find that when the rims/pads are dirty as happens now during this type of riding then braking power is somewhat reduced. Normally a good wash and ride out on a sunny day will sort that (OK so the wash is sorted I guess but a sunny day now thats more of a challenge ....)
  16. Parra - you using those ignitors tubeless?
  17. Anorak on :- If it's not too long I have just patched it with one of those 'thicker' MTB like tube patches from the inside. Even used that in an MTB tyre with a tear. Anorak off
  18. Running the Crossmarks but LittleBen has changed from them to some Specialized 'captain control'. He feels that they give better grip (specifically cornering) and shed the mud better, perhaps not as 'easy' rolling on flat hardpack. That of course is subjective (as in IMHO) as always ........ And in team Dad the fact that they cost somewhat less than the Crossmarks is also important and they are 2bliss ready! This laaitie can wear a tyre in no time.
  19. Hijack sorry:- BG you riding Fast one Sunday? I know you don't have one on your road bike at least! Hijack off
  20. Minty - BG's gonna let you have it over that 'funrider' quip, put your downhill protective kit on you gonna need it! http://www.33smiley.com/smiley/sports/35.gif
  21. I guess it has similar 'uncool' cred to a chainwheel protector as is displayed on a certain hubbers Merida MTB - she has however decided that she would rather be pointed at than get another dreaded chainwheel tattoo ............
  22. Spidey I doubt that butt will be shaped by a saddle, I guess the saddle will change shape for sure
