I think things can only get better this year

Church on a hill has nothing to do with beer... that's where're you're still earning your beer.. it's the Greek Church half way up one of the van Gaalens trails... once a year they have a service, but what a service... there's lamb on the spit and festivities afterwards, not that us pedalers ever get to feast on this, because we're usually long gone by the time lunch is served...

You just need an Android smart phone like a Samsung S3,4,5 or mini, with Endomondo or Strava loaded (and others), I don't have any knowledge of iPhones... I'm sure somebody shared some maps on this thread way back.. go through it and check that out, look for gpx files, you can load those onto your phones, no gadgets needed, otherwise when I get a moment I will find some.. I think I might have some of my own rides saved.. can't remember now need to look..

Try to find a gpx file of one of the VG routes, there are a few out there, maybe even on this thread. Otherwise you can use the mountain for orientation

My small Swiss Army knife, the one with a corkscrew and beer bottle opener (also has a knife.. I think!) is permanently attached to my car keyring! But this knife is always in pristine condition as it is always in nearly new condition... reason being is I always forget to remove it on air trips so gets consficated! ;-( Those Sh*ts at the airport are getting rich off our forgetfulness....

Like Hairy said your budget most important... but I wouldn't put too much into that frame, rather look out for a fair priced 26" second hand bike

Bernie did suggest some time back that tracks should have waterspray systems installed, which randomly be turned on to wet the track... needless to say it wasn't adopted. I llked the idea of a circle installed into a straight, which the drivers could go around any way they chose!! That would liven things up a bit

EG. Like the "underpass" under Rustenburg Road...
