  1. Been meaning to post this for a while. Inherited it on my 40th. http://i68.tinypic.com/2nteknd.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/27zg7mf.jpg
  2. Really no need to explain, it's wonderful to own something different. And that really is lovely!
  3. Try closing the bottom vents halfway to prolong the coal life. You'll need to find the sweet spot where they're getting just enough air to burn but not too much to burn out quickly. Also try use charka triquettes. Much longer burn time as they use less filler in the production.
  4. Yeah the Umhlanga one. Their dry aged rib eye is honestly the best cut of meat I've ever eaten.
  5. Karoo kitchen is about 4km from my office. My biltong consumption is at an all time high.
  6. Spend a bit extra an get a Badger, also from trappers. Far better blade steel.
  7. How did you prep it Myles? Marinade?
  8. With the electronics partially off, it gets pretty hairy pretty quickly. Especially compared to other offerings from Mclaren, etc which are much more subdued. I've experienced some pretty high power cars, but the latest GT2 punches well above it's numbers Older GT2's were proper. Best drive of my life was in a 993 GT2 clubsport.
  9. Very nice. One of the last properly-scary-to-drive production cars left these days.
  10. Uncompacted snow weighs about 100kg per cubic metre. So it would take a LOT of snow to squash a car.
  11. I'd be interested to hear your reasons. I've had XT on my last 3 bikes and can honestly say I've never felt short of braking power.
  12. This ^^ There are just too many ways signing a lease for a bitter, black-listed ex can end badly. If you HAVE to, sign a 3 months lease just to get her out, or even a temp month-to-month option. Then she can sort it out once she gets the payout. Don't allow her bad decisions to be your problem any longer.
  13. That is a significant project to accomplish with no machinery. Well done!
  14. The trick with quicklinks is to press the side plates together at the same time as pushing the pins towards each other. The pin heads are seated in a little recess in the plates (that's the 'click' you hear when installing one). If you don't press the side plates you are effectively pushing against a (minute) metal wall i.e it's going nowhere!
  15. Good show! Enjoy and post some pics when you're back
  16. On the invoice total + duty. This is all speculation however, as the actual amount charged will be determined by the person who attempts to do the calculations at customs or the post office. This is rarely accurate.
  17. Duty isn't charged on the shipping cost, so it works out about $150 less.
  18. Just be careful who you book with. Some of the operators there are pretty slack at getting clients into fish, and finding the fish in general.
  19. Try get a spot with No Boundaries. Sadly, most of the areas in Oman have been decimated by netting and over fishing in recent years. Fishing there is way tougher than it ever was. https://www.facebook.com/NoBoundariesOman/?hc_ref=ARR7oyhXEjyftfBqOdiQuoS2QOEPA6B-Y_-ZJDWXw72yzvFL2zmpk-Td9meVOhfKOYI&fref=nf
  20. I'd take a slightly harder approach with her. She wanted the divorce, she has made the poor financial decisions, and she must come up with the deposit. I know it's tough, but don't make her problems yours. This will set a bad precedent for any future financial issues she has (and I'm pretty certain there will be more).
  21. I've lost count of the number I've seen at Sterkies. And rhinkals on the Vaal, when you're chest deep in a run and they think you're an island
  22. Blockchain is already very much in use in the fintech sector, and is going nowhere. However the concept of using a highly volatile commodity as a transaction token (the very basis of crypto 'currency') is not something that will have a long life span.
  23. Exactly. Land owners at Holla are not paid for access, but 20% of the trail fees are supposed to be used toward controlling weeds, etc. From what I see this is not the case. Ultimately, R2k+ is very pricy when compared to the pricing of other venues.
  24. If the trail network was maintained then this would be true, but that's definitely not the case...
  25. Yeah Holla is getting crazy expensive for what you get. Trail maintenance is non-existent lately too. EMBA: R550 a year R30 per day
