  3. Joggies was good. I also hear Fabians transport is the same as the guys often work together. Bike was dropped off at Cycle Lab (or one of the shops they state) on the Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon got a whatsapp to say in Durban. I collected on Friday afternoon, bike is hung and fixed in a trailer (no dismantling of anything). After race returned bike to same pickup/drop off point. Seems they drove through the night and by Monday morning got another WA message advising bike was back at Cycle Lab. Picked it up later in the day. Bike well looked after and plenty of WA notifications. So will be happy to use Joggies again.
  4. Thanks, due to recovering from covid and trying to keep HR down as I regain fitness, it was somewhat hard mentally not to be racing but treating it as a "training" race. I was at least 45mins slower than normal and a good 15mins slower on the run than my last two 70.3's. In part this to Zone 2 and definitely more due to the wind. It was gusting almost gale force at times, difficult conditions for racing later in the day, especially on the second loop on the bike leg and felt like a head wind out and on the way back. Also with a reduced field, only 1300 athletes (not the usual 2500), one of the most honest bike legs, did not see any drafting (although heard there were a few who in the penalty tents), you almost had the highway to yourself at times and no where to hide!! So happy with a 4th without even trying and bummed for only being 5mins off 3rd lol
  5. Very tough day in the wind today, especially after recovering from illness (covid) prior to racing and trying to keep HR in zone 2. Due to the age group start time, we had the worst of it. I was actually the last to start the swim today. By the time we got to swim the wind was already up. Bike leg was not much fun into a very strong and gusting head and cross wind and there was no improvement on the run. A long day for sure, but good to be racing again!!

    Jock 2020

I have received nothing, emailed them, sent them proof of payment when it was with ASG before HAtoere took it over. Still no reply. I don't expect to see my money back or whether the event will happen. As you say there has been zero comms or marketing of the event.
  10. With that front wheel smashed like that, did he hit something?
  11. I don't think any topic has an impact on the commercial aspect of buying and selling here on the hub. Perhaps the change in direction for the site has brought a different type of buyer? I find it easier to sell on marketplace these days. Items move quicker and less low ball offers, so perhaps the latter with regard UX and adoption.
  12. Am also buying and selling more on FB marketplace
  13. Only $16k ???? https://www.bikeradar.com/news/colnago-tour-de-france-bike/?fbclid=IwAR05ceg8BmbDdJ-H3Vl3O5Qy6uZdZYUJ6iJvI5pRlDqeMvGAdDubRszFw5o
  14. Would be irresponsible if they were not and doubt there would have been municipal approval if staff/workers/volunteers did not have similar protocols. I can only speak for the athletes as have not seen what the requirements are that employees have to follow. Given they are in possible contact with more people than me as an an athlete, I suspect it is quite stringent to protect them. There are now minimal volunteers than normal races and we have to pretty much help ourselves at the aid stations rather than get stuff handed to us.
  15. I gathered as much, hence my explanation. As athletes we are racing in age groups at specific times throughout the morning and all given and individual QR Code and will be tested at registration, transition check-in, prior to race and will be requested to show our QR Code for scanning. From an email received today: Please remember due to COVID-19 Rules and Regulations, no spectators are allowed at the event. A weblink will be sent to you via SMS to download the COVID-19 Screening link. The link will be open from Friday, 4th June at 07h00. Please make sure you complete the link and have your QR code readily available when arriving at Registration. This link will be valid for 72 hours, thereafter you will have to complete the COVID-19 form again to obtain a new QR code. Please remember, should you fail the Screening, you will have to complete a Rapid COVID-19 test. This will be available at R450 per test (athletes’ cost). So are basically taking all precautions possible I think to mitigate Covid being within the athletes racing which has been implemented at other races around the world so far. Am not saying it is fool proof, but at least the new way of doing things hopefully keeps us able to race.
  16. Call has already been made, after discussing with municipality. If you are racing then you would have seen in the athletes guide all the Covid testing that has been put into place for the athelete's during the event pre registration and throughout. Any failure of any test at any time and you will not be allowed to race. Nothing has changed with us moving to level 2. Athletes are split into age groups and race in age groups. This includes registration, transition racking and racing with continual testing and if needs be antigen tests throughout the weekend. In such a way Ironman have taken a large participation race, and now compartmentalized it to smaller size field races within the overall event which are currently not affected by the level 2 conditions. So unless you have confirmed facts to the contrary?
  17. Kirby is still around, he is just commentating on the other (smaller) races covered by Eurosport.
  18. https://bicycletransport.co.za/ https://www.thebikemigration.co.za/ https://bicycle-transport.co.za/ Edit: I have used bike migration a couple of times a few years ago, no real issue although they do a bit of dismantling to fit into a box for transport. I am using Joggie's for Durban next weekend, so can give you feedback afterwards, (supposedly roll-on/off, no dismantling)
  19. Durban 2020 which is now Durban 2021. Anyone racing and just got their number? Mine #1322 and a week to go!!
  20. Am sure the Mr P shoes will be ok for short speed work runs during the week. As said, pity there not more on the specs of the shoes.
  21. I suspect it is an issue with the Kickr, do you get any power readings when you pedal, even if not controlled by your garmin? If not then will be something wrong with the kickr. Contact https://www.ikhambi.co.za/ their technical staff will get you to do some self tests first before you may have to send the kickr in.
  22. Google QR Generator and you will be able to put in relevant information and generate a QR code to download.
  23. I think about as long as it will take me to say "suck wheeeeeel"... dropped!! ????
  24. I have had an ICE bracelet for many many years, I also have a QR code on my helmet, so try to cover all bases too.
