  1. I would just get a 27.5 one provided the price is right.
  2. All the big manufacturers are still making 26" tyres, just the SA importers have got their heads up their asses about bringing them in. because they're so into 29ers

  4. Where do you get it from?
  5. Recently had a package from the UK which was sent via courier, value war R700. Dawn Wing phoned to ask if I wanted to use my own clearance agent or was ok for them to handle it, I agreed to let them handle it. When their invoice came it with a "documentation fee" of R180 and an "agency fee" of R180 (R360 total), plus they still added VAT on that. I complained and apparently it's a standard fee but they agreed to drop the "documentation fee".
  6. Ouch!!!
  7. Normal bombs are CO2 AFAIK. Nitrogen is an inert gas and makes up 78% of dry air
  8. It would probably need to be sent back to the Post Office depot where they have a foreign parcels counter. Depends on how much the amount is, it might not be worth it.
  9. Clothing attracts about a 40% (supposed to anyway) and then 14% VAT. Not sure if there was an invoice included with the parcel which they based the tax on or whether they took an average of normal cost and applied it. As Helpmytrap says, there may also be a handling fee attached to it (e.g. if they opened the package to inspect)
  10. Dropping the BB height could be a good thing depending on the current height. It will also slacken your headangle and seattube angle with the equivalent effect of putting a 20mm longer fork on the front
  11. +1 on the Rapide cogs Wayne is a good guy to deal with
  12. Haven't had a chance to mount them yet Haven't had much time to ride at all since I got them. Doesn't help that I've done my shoulder blade in on Friday, so I'm out from ANY sport for 3-4 weeks.
  13. I have a Roller Taper BB (HT2, GPX, etc. type) that I picked up to use for me next BB replacement. Then I got a new frame with Shimano Pressfit. Haven't had a chance to test it yet

  16. I guess it depends on how much DH/bulldozing you're going to be doing. I can stick one in the car and next time you're near my office you can check one out
  17. Also contact Bibi for some 26" rubber, I've just got hold of some 650B x 2.4 versions of these. Haven't tried them yet but look and feel the business. Decent weight too https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/97734-new-dh-tires-26/
  18. And then they complain about it
  19. Still waiting for the Gopro vid and the how-to
  20. If the shim is machined with the right tolerances you won't have an issue. This is the one you want http://www.use1.com/use-hardware/accessories/309mm-i/d-shims
  21. If it's a QR then it is most likely a 135mm hub
