  1. What is your budget? Saw some RS Pikes the other day but that's like R11k-R13k and I'm not sure if they have in straight steerer. What fork do you have on there now? Maybe a better suited fork with 120mm travel would be a better option. What tyres are you running that are blowing off? Go speak to William at Williams bike shop in Somerset West, he is/was an Ellsworth rider and he'll know what you can/can't put on there also sort you out with decent rubber and/or wheels.
  2. The only CONSTANT. Yes, but I don't recall using that word EDIT: Then again you may be referring to my impact with the dirt (aka rocks in that instance).
  3. This is how we roll in Plett Nice tyre to cushion the front for the little one
  4. This is my latest 26" tyre Here are the measurements Tread Width: 70mm Casing Width: 64mm Axle to tread: 346.5mm Diameter: 693mm Might try them on my Trance on at the Dirtopia Enduro on Sunday
  5. I think these are correct, I'll check again when back in Cape Town. Tread width: 60mm Casing Width: 56mm Axle to tread: 340mm (same as a Maxxis Crossmark 27.5 x 2.1) Diameter: 680mm (same as a Maxxis Crossmark 27.5 x 2.1)
  6. LOL!!! Physics dictates that a 26" will be stronger/stiffer than a 29" wheel (all things being equal). Then again strong enough is strong enough. Whatever bike he gets, regardless of whether he sticks with OEM or gets other wheels. Try to have them built or at least checked over by a "reputable" wheelbuilder. I learnt the hard way about having just any LBS look at your wheels, after losing some skin and almost a broken arm and helmet, I ended up doing a better job myself.
  7. I got them via the UK, I forget the dealer though I'll post the actual measure widths etc, when I get a chance
  8. Try changing a nappy after that!!!
  9. Definitely better than your Excavators
  10. They're more Chubby than Fat, 2.75 (real 2.75), about 8-10mm wider than a Nevegal 2.5, but casing makes up most of that width as opposed to edges of the tread EDIT: To be honest the photos don't do it justice
  11. Yup Here is my other SS with a Dirt Wizard up front only.
  12. The base of my next SS build looks like it has more than enough clearance for my Surly Dirt Wizards which arrived today
