  1. There was a guy trying to sell a Santa Cruz Juliana dually not long ago on the hub, if you do a search on the classifieds I'm sure you'll find it. My wife has one and being womans specific they're pretty tiny
  2. A colleague of mine did it on a Giant Anthem 26 which he bought second hand for 10K and loved the ride. Another friend of mine spent 50K on a Tallboy ... also loved the ride...but afterwards admitted that they got totally swept up and carried away by the hype of it all and completely overspent and overgunned themselves on equipment. Long story short...you don't have a spend a fortune to have a jol.
  3. The hundred bucks or whatever is small change compared to the peace of mind and potential fines you'll get.
  4. I like it ... wouldn't buy it though. How did you do that BTW?

Mods can you maybe merge this with the "riding with kids" thread?

An3 and GuyP....from what age can you start using the halfwheeler? My laaitie is 2 years 4 months and can ride his balance bike feet up no problem and he's fairly wild on it...I'm bit worried he'll lose focus, let go of the bars and go flying off the half-wheeler the same way he thought it would be a good idea to climb off a swing in full flight the other day.
  7. Thanks! You've no idea how much time I've spent searching for that today...
  8. What frame is William Keith riding on? He's usually on a van Nicholas 26 but someone posted a pic in one of the many Epic threads where it looked like a Cruz but I can't find it for love or money.

When I use my iBert or trailer I ride at 50% of normal speed / skill / risk level, the odds of my laaitie blikseming off his scoot bike or the steps at home are far greater. In fact he did himself a beaut of a chin-graze yesterday....and then shook off the tears and got back on to ride some more. I have one of the Giant halfwheelers still waiting in it's box in the garage till the sprog is a bit bigger, can't wait to try it.
  10. Except for the one time when I left my hard but not overinflated freshly mounted (UST Nevegal on UST rims) tyre in the back of my bakkie in the sun....BOOOOM!!!! Bead ruined tyre stuffed game over start again.
  11. Her photo should be in the "pics that make me want to ride" thread.
  12. Sorry mate but Giant has already filled that spot...
  13. You're going to have a hard time beating me to the first medium Pyga hitting the classifieds!
  14. Hey you can see my house from up there!

This isn't monstrous but it'll work nicely on a 456 or similar bike. https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&do=view_item&item_id=23409
  16. No Mavic via CRC to SA. You can select whatever wheels parts you want shopping as usual, add them to your basket and when you check out stipulate "build please". The cost is 15 quid for one or 20 quid for two wheels. You'll pay normal listed price plus an additional approximate 15.6% landed (VAT and clearance)
  17. Negative experience = negative feedback. You may just save someone else the frustration you went through.
  18. Jonkies is pretty mellow and always a great day out.
  19. Nice, I see Rommel took a day off. Hoping to be back on the bike soon then we must organize a social SS ride.
  20. While there has been shortage of eye candy from Dangle we are yet to see yours?
  21. SNAP! That in itself is a thing of beauty. Those Loaded rims work well on that colour frame. How does the MCR compare to the Ritchey?
  22. Sorry I meant Niner...the images of Dangle's delicious Ritchey has corrupted my ability to think clearly.
  23. Trekfan there was a guy that had an On One Carbon fork for sale same as the one on my bikes in some of the previous posts in this thread...should be a lot cheaper than the Ritchey unless of course the Ritchey is specifically what you want. Hairy should have his contact details if you are interested.
  24. I believe earning and paying in GBP or $ instead of ZAR would go a long way towards alleviating said conservatism.
  25. Forward the details to Cycle Addiction, Williams and Helderberg Cycle Works. If it's in SSW the bike will likely poke it's head out for some attention at one of these shops sooner or later. Try the Wannabee's cycling club too.
