  1. I was looking at renting some carbon wheels from one of the wheel renting stores advertised on the hub, but it's somewhat pricey... quite a bit actually.... so it was a thought for about 3sec and the faded away....
  2. Thanks boys... appreciate it. Zatek.... I struggled up and down those hills at Amashova with 2 wheels... i actually need a 3rd and 4th one
  3. Hey Wyatt Earp.... I wouldn't mind borrowing those wheels if Zatek doesn't take the opportunity Please keep me in mind
  4. Ja i know there is no love lost in the V groups
  5. Finally got my re-seeded sms with new number and time... VB 5:45
  6. I was there on saturday and doing two loops around... didn't see any on coming traffic on the first loop, but going up the hill again from the parking, there were a lot of okes speeding down that hill. It's a one way up!!!!!! If you're to damn lazy to cycle the extra few km's around to the parking area then don't go there. The last thing anyone expects going up that hill is to start ducking and diving lazy ass cyclist speeding down from the top.
  7. I'm heading for a loop tomorrow... might be 2 loops
  8. I'm also waiting for the communication on mail/sms... I received confirmation on my re-seed via phone about 2 weeks back
  9. Would be nice if I can get my re-seeded number as well....
  10. I use my vitality discounts mostly when we fly to kzn (visiting my in-laws) so this will help quite lekka to push up that discount bracket. Sweet
  11. I'm pretty sure the temptation has set in with many cyclist to draft a truck like that... but... the grey matter should set in and scream at you... you can't see jack sh&*, so what if the truck flicks up a rock, what if there is a huge hole in the middle of the road??? 9 out of 10 times the break lights on thetruck doesn't work anyway so it will be pointless watching those. You'd better have abs on your bike if that truck decides to stop suddenly... the list goes on and on about the "what ifs"
  12. Thanks for the Discovery info!! Didn't even know about this
  13. I had my custom designed kit made by OTR Designs (Stephen Fowler). Awesome quality and the design was exactly what i wanted. PM me if you want his details
  14. I see we have 2 topics with the same discussion
  15. What would the uptake of something like this be?
  16. Swelling of the foot is a definate possibility, especially this time of the year when things are warming up, but brings me back to the year question again. Did you not use them last summer? I'm no expert but I do have "some" experience with getting the right shoe, as I went through 3 pairs of shoes, quite a number of shoe inserts and of course a Bike Fit setup before I found the right recipe that works for my feet. A few things that i picked up along the way.... you need to have proper foot support (from the inners) especially if you have a high foot bridge (like i have). It may be that the foot bridge support on your soles have gone soft because of wear and sweat. Check the inners for wear or flatness under the ball area. If you exersise to much downward pressure from the ball of your foot without any padding between your foot and the cleat, it is bound to get eina after a while.
  17. I got myself the Sidi Mega shoe, of which the toe box is much wider than the normal shoe... bye bye numbness and never had cramps in my toes. It's weird that you had the shoes for a year and only picking up issues now? Can also be worn inner soles. Do you have enough foot bridge support on your soles?
  18. Thank you very much to the Edenglen Club for an amazing ride around Pretoria yesterday. The weather was perfect riding weather and the group of guys are awesome!! It's only a pity about the two guys that fell about 100m from where we would have finished. It's ironic to cycle for 120km without any issues and so close to home bad luck strike. I hope the guys are doing alright
  19. And as mentioned I went and said howzit on Saturday afternoon. It was great to see The Hub Kit and i'm pleasantly suprised on the quality. The show itself was a bit small, but still very enjoyable! And the food was really lekka as well
  20. I'll probably be making a swing past on Saturday, and be sure to say Howzit at The Hub stand
  21. As the guys said above
  22. You don't need to be a member of a club for the R75 license.... You do however need to for the racing license
  23. I only have rollers at this stage and was still looking at getting an IDT as well for some varriance. Used the rollers every now and again in winter when it was really icy outside, and now just every now and again if it's raining maybe. I understand that the IDT is hard on your rims and tyres, hence you can buy a spare trainer wheel. In my opinion, the rollers isn't that hard on the wheels (your opinion?) I get a good workout from the rollers, but i must be honest you need to push high gears to get a decent workout, otherwise it's just a easy spinning session, and that's it. To answer the top speed question... i have to stop at 74km/h otherwise the bike starts to hop uncontrollably and that's never a good thing on rollers. Still an awesome workout for ballance, it stiffens your core, improves concentration and really gives you a good ride using your own motor skills
  24. I at least received the phone call and the guy told me that I will receive an sms with my new number. I've actually just sent them an email to follow up on that particular sms as the down loadable number form from their website hasn't been updated as yet either
  25. Thanks Dazshell, Yeah i also only caught a glimpse of the oke... I was more concerned of getting out the way and trying not to hit the guy head on.
