  1. great, will see you wed and thurs big fat oke on blue and white pinarello
  2. u stilll alive dude? sold the bikes or what? howzit?
  3. BigJoe there is a group that leaves at 5 tues - thur some go long, ie cheesefactory, some just do Nampak loop pace depends on the mood, but usually quite hectic some dont keep up, so they wait a bit there used to be a 5:15 group - not too sure if they still go out do join
  4. Not sure about what you expect from the race. But can tell you , it will be brutal if you not fit, and a long day out. The organisation is fine, parking limited and the route difficult. The wind always blows, small bunches, a 22 km ride through Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve where the only thing remotely flat will be your tyre in case of an unfortunate puncture. But a good test of fitness over an unforgiving route.
  5. thanks guys pity about saturday's turnout keep up the good work
  6. jip much different lotsa climbing, lotsa single track, lots more sand than usual we had to do 3 laps in the reserve...... enough to loose quite a bit of s\yr sense of humour
  7. eish, how hard was that 74k's.............. I was going there hoping for the same route we did in June....... there was quite a bit of wire lying around a piece got tangled on my bike at the top of that second rocky climb....... fortunately no damage Jules was awesome riding away from all on the SS
  8. well done ha ha thanks frosty so I didn't make it..............
  9. At least Ha Ha can play, because he can't ride I'm still 3rd

    Sidi Ergo 3

Nice, very nice - but just bought a second pair of "2's".......... like the blue and white though
  11. keep on canoeing then , it sounds much more fun and much more excitement when you can afford to cycle take it up again
  12. some comments - no one forces anyone to race, I know plenty riders that never ever race , even if they can afford it - Road running gives discount to Masters, how insane is that, the toppies are usually the ones who have gone on pension, have too much money lying around and still get a discount....... same with pensioners discount at supermarkets (ok, not all pensioners live a life of luxury, but a large portion does, and they can afford to pay the normal fee),so where is the sense in that - I also know plenty students who earn big bucks, so how will it be controlled?
  13. down to 5 riders
  14. I see I am really doing very well should be in the running for a prize soon!! last place gets something?
  15. must be your sterling personality Thug I ride a Pina, wear Sidi's, both MTB and Road, Rudy P glasses on all rides, Rudy helmets, Sidi winter gloves.......... still nothing Did get very good service from Lee zil when I needed some things Still need a few things, but most of all cash to get it
  16. This thread highlights a few typical character traits of the hub. Its unfortunate that a forum which is supposed to bring cyclists together does exactly the oppposite by dividing them quicker than what Juju can do to the party he supports. Also the reason why a lot of old timers have left and opted for another option. Pity to see some of the immature attitudes - but I suppose that's life hey Well said Grumpy, although I think the dude should have done the opposite and said, listen - "there is a cloud of suspicion hanging over me, I will take a back seat until proven guilty/innocent and not race"
  17. Cabinet approves assessment system 47 minutes ago Cabinet has approved implementation of a system to assess the performance of managers in government departments, spokesman Jimmy Manyi said on Thursday. Ja sure, and what would happen to those underperforming - they will probably be promoted
  18. nice frame!! try get hold of ASG, they might be able to help
  19. spend some time on a programme for Argus using the ibike power setup results were great, but maybe it was just because I was following a structured programme as the ibike gave me some hassles during the period. just got a quarc fitted, will start training with it in nxt couple of days. can't wait to start and hopefully see the results have used hr programmes before, with limited success will for the first time submit training files to a coach... so we'll see
  20. I suspect that weight can only make a difference when all else is equal. 2 riders, same weight, same fitness same everything except bike weight, that could be true yes, but an unfit person on a light bike will strugle and loose much more than 1:30 on a climb than me with my little bit of fitness and heavy bike
  21. seeing that its now winter it will be 7:30
  22. Can't believe no one has told you to rather get a power meter??? I did however not read everything My advice - forget the HR, just ride as hard as you can when you plan on going hard, when you wanna have a recovery ride take it as easy as you can without falling asleep on the bike
  23. You have it spot on. One can't peak for every race(I do about 30 races a year), so I select 3/4 per year as features, and plan according to that. Whatever races fall in the training period will be that, a fast training ride at race pace.
