  1. Well done Fanie Now you really have no excuses tomorrow chubba
  2. The bottom line is that some cyclists are retards! I agree with you 100%, when a robot is red you stop. If you on a bicycle you 150% stop because a car will win every time. Take it up with the shop.
  3. Agreed! Recently dropped my rear pressure to 1.8 and the front to 1.6. Its made a massive difference!
  4. This 29er craze is getting out of hand! Accepted setup? That takes the cake!
  5. They used those new teflon coated ones. I assume those are the best or pretty close to the best. It was also the small things they did which made a difference. 1. Put blingy red cable clamps on the end of the cables 2. Redid my chain stay protector with an old tube - looks proper solid 3. Put protective tape on the down tube and under the bottle cages I did'nt ask for any of that, they just did it. I like a place that takes some initiative but still phones you to give a run down of what is damaged and what needs replacing which they did. In the past Ive gone to collect my bike from a service and the guy says 'oh your bb was stuffed so we replaced it with xtr @ R350 a cup!'
  6. I took my Zula recently to John O connor cycles for a full service. Had a great experience there. The guys were professional and helpfull. I think the service was 290, then the bb and headset were 80 each, then the linkage was 250. They also replaced all the cables, gave the bike a good clean and checked out the brakes etc. All in all I was satisfied with the price and the level of service. I would definately go back there.
  7. Im gonna run the race/mountain king combo. For me I find them to be the best all round tyres. The race king is perfect in the mud, but its pretty darn good.
  8. What a ******** thing to say!
  9. Do you have the dates for the others?
  10. I heard a rumour via the grape vine that Cape Town will be the host when it does arrive.
  11. You are a legend! Good on you! I hope the owner comes forward
  12. Hey skaap I bought an AR4 in January. Love it to bits! Thats not the price, the SRP is R31999 and shops will give you a discount if you ask nicely enough. My 2 cents. I love the felt. It got a great write up in last months bicycling magazine where it was termed the 'do it all'. I do triathlon every now and again and the AR4 was created with this in mind. Remember with the Felt, its tour proven!
  13. so whens the next one? Would dig to join up
  14. You confusing terms. Mountain bike encompasses trail bike and a XC (cross country bike) An XC bike will have less travel and a more racier and aggressive geometry whereas the angles on a trail bike are more upright and relaxed. A trail bike will also have more travel as it is designed to be more at home on the technical stuff, whereas an XC bike is designed mainly for speed.
  15. I am so bored of this 26 vs 29 debate. Its like petrol vs diesel debate. Yes 29ers are quicker, but not by that much that every1 must now go and buy a 29er. For the average bloke its gonna save you 5 mins over 100k's, is that really worth it? Personally Im a petrolhead and couldnt care about the small savings of a diesel because I love the sound of an engine screaming. Same way was I love the ride, look and feel of my morewood zula. If you are a pro then you have no choice because the other guys do have an advantage over you so you would be a fool not to. There will come a time when I buy a 29er but for the time being Im more than happy just to be out riding. People with 29ers make it as if you cant even ride a 26er anymore. Remember why you ride peeps, to get out in the fresh air, to keep healthy and to have fun. You can do both just as well on a 26 or a 29 inch bike. LikeI said though, if you a pro you need to go 29er.

@ Motorist Another thing, you chose to take pics on your phone while driving, this too is illegal! The cyclists are breaking the law but so are you! Its all relative in the end. You think using your phone while driving is ok, they think riding in the traffic is ok. Neither are correct in this situation. GRanted you wanted to expose something, but you did that by doing something illegal.

    Road Hogs

I have mixed emotions on this one. Firstly I am a member of Club100 and a proud one at that. I must admit though, there have been times when we have ben riding (as a club) down busy roads (not the cradle in these pics) and riders still feel the need to ride 2/3 abreast and swerve into the lane etc etc etc. I was talking to a non cycling friend and together neither of us could understand why a cyclist would do that and not ride single file and keep left. In fact I think mototrists would be far more patient and respectefull towards cyclists if they were to ride single file and keep left. Cylists do have a right to use the road, but there are conditions to this, and when in big groups single file and keeping left is one of them. There are times when 2 abreast is permitted, on a road with one helluva shoulder. This war will go on forever as long as cyclists think they own the road and ride the way they do. I have'nt even started on the guys that jump red lights and stop streets!!! If everyone were to start riding single file, keep left and stop at red lights and stop streets I think the situation would change drastically.
