  1. I got a reflective vest from Nathan called "Streak" that works well. It's about R200 at Sportsmans and comes in a S/M and ML size. It's a smaller size vest so sits above jersey pockets for example and has place to write your ID and medical info. Give it a try
  2. Trailrun yes. Ride eish ek weet nie so mooi nie...
  3. Do the job as ? Good for rain but your head will still get wet. Not sure how well it breathes so may be sweaty but if it's really raining I guess rather sweaty than soaking. If you want windproof get the Magneto. If you want warmth get the Free Thinker. Both from FA. Hope that helps. WW.
  4. Just follow @tweetersagan on twitter. It's made my TDF
  5. A pic of Emily and you notice the drivetrain shes running ? Fail.
  6. Fanks. Steeres is long enough and is 1 1/8th. Good point on the star fangled nut forgot about that. Here's the full spec Type: Three Pieces T700 Finishing: External lamination 3K and 12K Fork Dropous: Aluminium Steerer: 28,6 mm (1”1/8) Fork length dropout to crown: 367mm Rake: 44mm Crown diameter: 45mm Length steerer: 300 mm Weight: 540 grams
  7. ok pretty close then thanks gummi. It's not a tapered tapered so that's fine. Uses normal QR's. Steerer is long enough to adjust/cut. What else do I need to look at ?
  8. Hi all Searched but found zip. I have a 2011 Felt F85 road bike and was toying with the idea of slapping one of these forks on it. Now i'm wondering how do I make sure it will fit ITO fork rake etc ? Also will a full carbon fork make any difference ITO comfort ? I guess tyre pressure will be of more help ? Thanks WW.
  9. Clint The XTC is a cool pack but your back will be cooking and sweaty when running, I have a similar pack. The issue with mtb packs for running is side to side swaying, which the hip belts on packs like the XTC prevent, but as I said they make you sweaty. Also the XTC does not carry bottles in a comfy and accessable manner, so take that into account. With the bladder you are limited to a single type of drink when running. The XTC does have more than enough space for loads of bike spares or running gear but can also lead to one over-loading the thing with styuff you don't need. The side pockets are about the size of the average male hand so if you put only a few items in it becomes messy and noisy quickly. Bottle wise - Giant and a few other brands make bottles with caps that cover the nozzle, I use these when going on mucky rides. They are around R25 at Sportsmans warehouse. And by saying you ride in a t-shirt I hope you don't mean a normal cotton one ? Rather go to MR. Price Sport and get a polyester wicking shirt for R60 or so. It will keep you dry and keep chafing to a minimum, especially if you decide to wear a pack. Seeing as you are undecided, go to a bike park or a race and see if you can't try out some packs or saddle bags. Should give you an idea of what works for you or not. Me, I just stuff it all in my pockets and usually have to resque Specialized7 when we ride together as he is too cool to carry more than lip-ice and a bit of a boep on rides
  10. Dis sommer k@k ! I go there allot on my one to run in the week and mostly it's deserted. Still I have always felt "safe" there. But this is probly more a weekend thing when there are more people ?
  11. Maybe not sponsor, but
  12. In any case the fuji has a xt/slx mix and the shock is a monarch, so not such a bargain.
  13. Have a look at the Fuji Outland 1.0 it's 18k with XT, Reba fork, Fox shock, WTB wheels. Don't know how it compares to others but seems good value
  14. Well I doubt it would be in 32GI so what was he taking then if he got it from a supplement and not nasal spray or something ? AFAIK the Methylx stuff is present in more bodybuilding type supplements, which also means he was a naughtby boy by not sticking to his sponsors stuff, which they claim he won the race using.
  15. Good easy drinking bean that ! Just beware that as it's quite a dark roast most of the beans natural oil is already on the outside of the bean, which does tend to make the machine/grinder a bit oily so be sure to clean it regularly.
  16. Awesme did the light still function on the sensor ? I replaced the battery on mine and the light went off when taking the magnet past it but the edge did not pick it up. Maybe I could have gotten a new unit as well
  17. Also dealt with Michelle before. Awesome service, heck she even called me
  18. Don't know if there are lights that last that long ? Maybe buy a magicshine type light with the bottle battery and a helmet light ? Let's see what the others say
  19. Mr Price sport trail waterproof pouch, cheap and effective ! Goes in the jersey zip pocker
  20. Anyone tried the Free Thinker jacket yet from FA ? Got one recently but have yet to ride in it, but love the fit and material. Basicall a light and breathable fleece that won't pill and is cut close to the body with full zip for venting.
  21. So a year later are you guys still happy ?
  22. Def getting an Aeropress as soon as I have funds
  23. Hmm interesting will give that a try. I have managed to manually upload my workouts to garmin connect though. Chrome hasn't worked either as it say I need to update the Communicator plugin which I have done twice but when I try again it says it';s at 2. something and needs to update. Checking the plugin afterwards it says it is at 4.0.10 or whatever and it does pick-up the Edge but then still doesn't upload and again says the plugin needs to be updated and then the process repeats. On uploading it just freezes half way through. If the corrupt file thing doesn't work I'll try re-installing the plug-in which seems the issue here. Thanks for all the help. If you have any other issues tweet garmin at @garminsa they have been VERY helpfull otherwise I can provide the contact details of someone dealing with the fitness devices.
  24. Did my update all is well but can't seem to upload to garmin connect via Firefox. Any help ? Works fine on transferring to Garmin Training Centre.
