    I have this conversation often.

It starts with "We agree that it's already broken, right?"

Reminds me of my apprentice days, a valuable lesson I learnt back then. Tried helping someone with a water damaged laptop, only had light on power button. Opened, cleaned, inspected and noticed the level of corrosion damage was to severe. Closed, and when I gave it back, the light no longer came on and was then blamed for breaking the device. From that day onwards, if it's broken, I can't break it further. "dead, dead and dead"

Definitely the unit. i checked voltage and current from the PSU. Also contacted a repair company in JHB, can't remember the name but they charging R1200 to strip and quote and then can't guarantee that they can repair the unit. so hence looking for somebody who will tinker with the unit in their spare time.

I will definitely take this on.. service the unit too.

I.ve got a Kickr that is dead (no power) that Wahoo SA won't repair because it was purchased second hand so looking for somebody to have a look at it and see if it can be repaired. Insurance claim said it wasn't a power surge so that route didn't work.

    Sorry to highjack the thread

If you in Cape Town, I'll give it go... I am an Electronics expert though. 😁

I think when the time comes, it's something I would try doing myself. If you do have a Kickr that does require a service, feel free to contact me and I will give it a go. Please note, if the unit is faulty, I can only make it worse OR get it right 🤣

@avatar what do you think 😎

Why do people offer less than half price that you are asking for?  How can they expect that?

Offer them half the item.. the more we negotiate, the more I remove.

  7. I’ve always switched between Fenix and Apple since the start. Since the new series 7 apple, I’ve finally found a watch I am happy with. Personally the wrist heart rate is way better vs Garmin, it’s lighter and I can live with more then 18 hours battery life. The only issue I find with the Apple Watch is the smell on my wrist after I remove it. Edge 830 for the bikes and apple for the rest.

Very professional and good pricing. Just email volume, pick up and drop off and they will send you a quote. The important thing is when boxing the wheels, wrap individually and pack separately. She packing together, place the freehub on the outer side. I received wheels with the freehub on the inside and and was a very long unpleasant experience after that. Thankfully the seller was willing to rectify.

  9. I actually think this was more of an interest free loan vs selling a bike. He was in need of cash and the hub was the easiest option. I also think he is waiting for a payday and then will refund everyone involved.. if I can give you some advice.. honesty will get you much further in life. Be honest about your situation and maybe the buyers will try to understand and when your payday finally arrives, pay them back with interest too. You sold the bike to 3 different people, that makes you a fraud. I would’ve told you to keep your frame the moment you went from R5000 to R5500. To the buyers, ask him for honesty, after that, lay a charge.. R500 is one thing, but R5500, that’s a whole different story.

Just had accident claim with King Price. They will do anything they can to not pay it seems. Had a RD totally destroyed in an accident, explained the whole situation. She kept asking me how the chain came off. I said I dont look down at 30km/h on a corrugated gravel road and see what goes on. "That is not an accident if the chain comes off" she says.... The chain coming off and getting stuck is what I assume ripped and twisted the entire RD off.  Very rude woman by the name of Chané. Slowly started losing my cool unfortunately with her incompetence and multiple repeats (Never had this problem with KP before, they usually very friendly) Gather this is a white chip on the shoulder.

They phone back, and want to up the insurance premium before even giving an answer on this claim, so they will not honour it or help.

Dont be fooled by their R1 bike insurance on your car policy. I will now look at changing everything.

Amazing how the insurance is there every month to take your money but not there for you when you need it. Well done King Price. 1 Star for you.

Hope this bad experience with them helps others when deciding whether your bike is insured and in safe hands or not.

I've had the exact same experience with KP. RD broke off during CTCT. The person I dealt with interrogated to the point that I told her that her behavior was unacceptable. They are most likely going to reject your claim as they did mine based on wear and tear. You then log an internal dispute because the Ombudsman state that in your case, the insurance must assume the worse case scenario and that could be a stone, stick etc.. once settled, get a new insurance.
