My experience with CRC is very different from yours. I have had 18 parcels from CRC,(I buy for friends as well) all have arrived intact via parcelforce usually within 10 days sometimes better than that. The longest I waited was a month when a Volcano interrupted air traffic. One parcel of wheels had a missing Skewer, but within two hours of e-mailing the problem to them I had an apology and the tracking number of the parcel with a replacement skewer.

I have greatly reduced valve blocks just by making sure that the valve is at the top of the wheel before opening to pump.

It went pretty damn good. Perfect weather (wind on stage 2 must have been lousy but nice for stage 3) Not too cold at Potjie so good turn out there. Yours Truly did the 70km (13/140 & Ist Master) and the 40km mountain bike this morning. Yesterday's effort proved too much for today, so I did not do justice to Johan's fantastic course. It was nice to do some of the single track in daylight as I have only done most of it in the dark at 10pm.

I bought some on line at www.firstascent.co.za I used their inner gloves and Montana gloves this morning. When I got to work I had ice on my beard but the fingers were warm.

No they are not, they are a highly efficient retailer, competing with a massive handicap, that of product distribution. Yet they are managing to supply individual customers 10 000 km away within less than 10 days at far lower prices than local LBS and they carry much wider product range. Yes they are big, but their advantage is they are super efficient. They sort out problems on a no questions basis. Their customers are always right. Get your service, price and customer relations up to their standards and you too will prosper.

I seperated my AC Joint on Jan 2nd this year. My GP said that a screw would be needed. The surgoen said " Look on the internet you will find about 40 different ways to fix it - if there were only 3 ways you would know that two will work" No Fix but managing to do eeverthing, - riding swimming etc.

I also use exposure lights, the Maxx D . The guys with Sigma lights recon that their lights start casting shadows when I am behind them.

What I want to know is : If the public is not getting the vaccine who is getting it? Where is it diverted to??

It seems that the world cup is going cause havoc to all other sports events that coincide with the world cup. A major cycling event in Limpopo is threatened as 75% of the local police force and all but 3 of the Local traffic department will be deployed elsewhere SA. Let's hope that a way can be found around the lack of official man power. Another disruption less serious: Yesterday my daughter & I presented ourselves at our Chemist for our annual flu Jab only to be told that none were available as the Gov has diverted stocks " For the world cup" !!The Guy in Pink2010-04-30 00:43:09

Even some of the bigger retailers are going straight to CRC. I showed one LBJ the ropes one Saturday afternoon a month ago, as he placed his first order with them. He is now doing a weekly order of about R10 000.00 with CRC. This LBJ is choising the items which save about 30% or more on the Local suppliers price. He has another saving on courier costs, as CRC is direct to the local PO at no cost.

CRC gives so much better service and price. I purchased a MTB for my daughter in Durban on 25th October 09. As she said she wished to use it for communting as well as off road I specified M647 pedals and was initially quoted R 1160.00 for them, but managed to get them reduced to R918.00. When she took delivery of the bike she was told the pedals were out of stock and was given some other loan pedal until the M647's arrived. I went to the shop in December and they still had not arrived, so I ordered from CRC with some other stuff and got them 8 days later for a total landed price of R 550.00 - less than half the original quote. Cyclesphere have yet to let my daughter know that the pedals have arrived - which they assured me they will as soon as they do! CRC will put many LBS's out of business if they continue with their crappy service and high prices.

I don't think there is any afikaans only Cycling forum. Why not post here in Afrikaans if that's what you want? Your will get a mix of answers in both languages.

A good LBS is useful. Mine knows that I buy stuff from CRC and Totalcycling, and has asked me to get stuff for him twice. I recently asked him for a (new) bike I had seen advertised on the HUB at an excellant price. The (cartel) supplier first quoted him a higher price than the hub offer and when he pointed this out the price was adjusted so that he could offer the same deal. I now have bought 3 of those bikes from my LBS for beginners in the last two months.

Take it to the AFB to morrow, and we can look at it and comment afterwards.

I found this DHC in a second hand furniture shop. It had a complete Zeus 2000 groupset on, (Almost Identical to Campag of mid 70's) , with large flange hubs. The groupset is now on my youngest daughters bike. The bike is now used oin the wind trainer
