  1. I have an Exposure Maxx-D . It's Brillant, But why not go for the new Exposure 6 Pack. It's twice as bright as the Maxx-D but not twice the cost.
  2. Rubbish, a tubbie can be changed in 1/4 of the time it takes to change a tube. I've done it many times.
  3. Yes, Tumbleweed provide the link to the answer last Friday.
  4. Rolls all the way! Works well on the hardtail, (on the road it's now a SLR XP) I been on the same shape as the rolls for about for-ever
  5. I had a fall a week ago..... despite the damage to the head, the helmet is totally unmarked.
  6. You will pay the VAT on the order (Caculated on the Rand cost +10%) at and R25.00 customs admin. and shipping depending ion your option. I would not buy shoes unless you are replacing with the exact shoe you are wearing now.

  8. A Newton is the force exerted by gravity on a very large apple. A Newton Metre is the torque exerted on your shoulder by holding that apple at arm's lenght from the shoulder.. Hold six apples at arm lenght and see what it feels like, now torque the bolt holding the spanenr at arms length and feel the difference.
  9. I already know the cause of my sports injuries. It's because I keep falling off the @#$%^ bike! (Yet again on Sunday, - Dislocated the much abuse right shoulder)
  10. A Bike is a frame and the stuff that goes on the frame. Before you buy a bike the supplier must give a spec of the frame and what is going on the frame (or spec it yourself). The components are easy to check. But because of the 15% Duty on complete bikes, I would not bring a complete bike over , but buy the components seperately and bring it over in 2 or three parcels. You can order all the bits that you speficy, and should recieve exactly what your order. That bit is easy to check, If you use a reliable supplier like CRC or Total Cycling you will also get the frame you specify. AS a Rookie, and before you know what you want or need, get advice locally.
  11. Your probelm is you have not ridden it yet. You need to ride the thing to spread the stuff around and seal it properly.
  12. Road shoes, Left Foot 45 Right Foot 46 ! Mtb Bike shoes 45 both feet, but right a bit tight!
  13. What do you find odd? I use the stuff I buy, I do not sell it. A two year old MTB Crankset at 30% will be a complete rip off, so your easy way probably does not work too well. When I am done with stuff , it is ready for the bin. When I buy stuff for Friends, they pay what it cost me
  14. I have had 18 good experiences in a row, so maybe yours is the exception. To get the tracking No. go to your account on CRC, and view the order. Once it is dispatched the Tracking No. is displayed. When the parcel is in SA Phone SAPO international parcels and ask for the local tracking No. I usually buy about R 3000.00 to R4000.00 at a time, so it is dispatched Parcel force for Free. But even when sent ordinary post I have had no Problem. Just do not wait for your local post office to notify you it has arrived, often they never do, just go to the PO with the tracking No.
  15. My experience with CRC is very different from yours. I have had 18 parcels from CRC,(I buy for friends as well) all have arrived intact via parcelforce usually within 10 days sometimes better than that. The longest I waited was a month when a Volcano interrupted air traffic. One parcel of wheels had a missing Skewer, but within two hours of e-mailing the problem to them I had an apology and the tracking number of the parcel with a replacement skewer.
  16. I have greatly reduced valve blocks just by making sure that the valve is at the top of the wheel before opening to pump.
  17. Check out : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/green-motoring/7885788/Bendy-bicycle-that-can-be-wrapped-round-lamp-posts-wins-design-prize.html?utm_source=tmg&utm_medium=TD_bendy&utm_campaign=moto1307am
  18. Had 18 orders from them, never had a problem. I get the goods in about 7 to 10 days
  19. Looks Great, The new security features should remove the adds for CD software!
  20. Phone an speak to Mike. He will help sort it out. Just have a conversation with an Irish speaker for an hour or so before you phone otherwise you will not understand a word.
  21. It went pretty damn good. Perfect weather (wind on stage 2 must have been lousy but nice for stage 3) Not too cold at Potjie so good turn out there. Yours Truly did the 70km (13/140 & Ist Master) and the 40km mountain bike this morning. Yesterday's effort proved too much for today, so I did not do justice to Johan's fantastic course. It was nice to do some of the single track in daylight as I have only done most of it in the dark at 10pm.
  22. I bought some on line at www.firstascent.co.za I used their inner gloves and Montana gloves this morning. When I got to work I had ice on my beard but the fingers were warm.
  23. No they are not, they are a highly efficient retailer, competing with a massive handicap, that of product distribution. Yet they are managing to supply individual customers 10 000 km away within less than 10 days at far lower prices than local LBS and they carry much wider product range. Yes they are big, but their advantage is they are super efficient. They sort out problems on a no questions basis. Their customers are always right. Get your service, price and customer relations up to their standards and you too will prosper.
  24. I seperated my AC Joint on Jan 2nd this year. My GP said that a screw would be needed. The surgoen said " Look on the internet you will find about 40 different ways to fix it - if there were only 3 ways you would know that two will work" No Fix but managing to do eeverthing, - riding swimming etc.
