  1. What material is your bottle cage? I remember long time ago my allu cages often made rattle noises (and they never lasted long). For long now I use carbon cages and never had a problem.
  2. Wonder how this practice is alligend with the National Credit Act. Might be of interrest to them.
  3. What is the purpose of posting on the hub if your bike was stolen? Is it to warn other people that bikes get stolen in an area? In that case thank you but most people know that. I would assume that you want people to be on the lookout for the bike with the small hope of the bike being spotted and the perp maybe getting caught. Surely it is then a good idea that after you report it here as stolen that you might want to check every now and then and see if someone spotted it. Or do they tell the investigating officer to keep an eye on the hub? PS. Not attacking anyone or being sarcastic. Just really want to know.
  4. Difference he was minus his car. Here you are minus the car and you are criminally charged for possession of stolen goods You tend to make sure what you buy is not stolen
  5. This is where the SA law is seriously lacking. Here in Germany if you are busted with stolen goods (even if you bought it) it is a criminal offence. Finish and klaar. It is up to you who buy the goods responsibility to check that a seller does not buy you stolen goods. You should ask for the original receipt or for some proof that he did not steal it. You can't tell the police you found it lying around. Lost property is to be handed either to the police or in most cases at the municipal offices where they have a lost and found departement. If someone looks for their lost property they should pay a founders fee which is passed on to the person who handed it in. If nobody claims after 6 months the items is yours.
  6. Clad for Nick but having been there myself I know that the positive ID of a perp at the police is just a very small step. It is still a very long way for it to go to court and then a guilty verdict and then a sentence.
  7. Did a nice sunset ride yesterday afternoon. (Actually almost misjudged the sun setting an hour earlier than what I am used to). But some pretty autums scenes again.
  8. Good to hear about your progress FirstV8. Harryn asked a very important question on whether you take pain medication still. We had a thread here on the hub about Ibobrufen and training and we had qualified doctors (not google doctors ) saying it is a bad idea to train with it so just check on that. Other than that I wish a good recovery. Sounds like you wife is also looking forward to you getting back on the bike
  9. While the hubbers in Luxembourg and UK are complaining about the weather, we down here at the foothills of the Alps were having marvelous sunny autumn days. Well I won't mention that last week we had absolute crap weather with borderline winter weather and snow falling on the Alps (as you saw on the Giro). But in the mean time I am loving the view of all the Autumn colours and the blue skies behind it. Went on an afternoon ride yesterday and we are having fairly warm weather at the moment. Trying to take a pic of the snow capped mountains but the camera does not do the view any favours
  10. People get their newspapers on their Notebooks and Ipads. You think maybe next season Apple might sponsor them with Ipads?
  11. As you guys can see, the Alps have had quite a bit of snow very early in the season. Was admiring the view from our side yesterday on my bike ride
  12. Very nice Hairy. Are you architecht?
  13. Maybe FR is not wrong. Its an American plane. If Trump is onboard it could also be full of hot air like a balloon.
  14. Don't forget the sick note sind by the team doctor.
  15. Maybe Comair pulled a move like Nicki Lauda and told Boeing to send their own pilots to fly the plane back.
  16. The new 737 Max without MCAS

I see scenes from a Leon Schuster movie ... Blou ... Blou .... Blou ....
  19. Started watching SA produced show here last night named Trackers. Seems it was co-produced by Mnet, ZDF (a German TV channel), Cinemax. Looking really good I must say.

    Who remembers?

Man oh man. Those are memories. I grew up next to the Morelettaspruit in Pretoria and had a open field. Kleilat was a regular thing. Got in trouble a few times as we target practiced on some houses in the distance.
  21. Paying an admission of guilt for a criminal offence will get you a criminal record but a traffic violation is not a criminal offence. If it is true that the Ekhuruleni does do this then they are acting unlawfull. If I were you I would take some pictures of the stop sign where you were fined. Especially of the road markings and actually petition the fine (assistance from a lawyer would be helpfull).
  22. We have here, and they ride bikes, some have e-bikes.
  23. If you don't find cycling to be fun then I think you should not futher going this route. I personally only get time at the moment for maybe 4-5 hours a week on cycling but I absolutely enjoy it. No I am in no racing condition unless your definition of racing is outsprinting the mail man to the the next lamp post. But I simply enjoy cycling out in nature and setting myself my own personal goals and see if I can achive them. Even like TNT1 shows here, if it is chasing Strava KOM's
  24. Ah Chappies with Kommetjie in the back ground?
  25. Was a guy in Primary school with me whos name was Blikkies Blignaut.
