  1. Magan Fox - no contest
  2. Great deal... How far into the production / manufacturing process would a firm have to go to satisfy the "its not local" naysayers? Devise some new, extra-whiz carbon fibre, create their own custom layups etc etc? Fact is, very few entities outside of the Far East have the technology or skills to manufacture carbon fibre frames - let alone at a reasonable price to the consumer I say good on Momsen - they have what looks to be a good product and are putting a lot of money into the local market in terms of sponsorship, marketing and LBS support. If the frames are made elsewhere and then imported - well, that's just good business...
  3. Loved it. Did the 35 but should have done the 60. Hopefuly this could become a regular race - well organised and close to Jhb - it took me less than 15mins to get home to Greenside!
  4. 29er definitely has right of way - in both directions...

  8. Nothing wrong with the vibe on the 94.7 - people really get out to support and there's plenty of good stuff happening. On the scenery front however, there's only one winner...
  9. I'm no midget but no issues from my AM Classics MTB 29 in over a year of riding...
  10. I agree that we're quite a conservative bunch. However, I think internally geared hubs are definitely something to look out for going forward once they can be lightened up a bit. I guess that, for now, we're stuck with deraiileurs...
  11. Sorry - hijack but on a similar vein: Scott Scale 29 Pro or Santa Cruz Highball?
  12. Had my American Classics for a year and have had no issues - weight 95kg .
  13. Also my first one. Tough but loved it. Will be back for the Sasol in March
  14. Hi ngala Any '12 Mamasita's on the way?
  15. Or - wind 2 (or more) layers of insulation tape around your bars and then fit the ESI chunky grips over the tape.
  16. Crankbros Cobalt 3 - 680mm, aluminium - reasonable price...
  17. Agreed. Unless you have some of those other bits just lying around the garage (from prior upgrades). Now very tempting again...
  18. Careful - it's a long way down off that high horse...
  19. How about ensuring that they have mounts for panniers - like touring bikes?
