  1. I think Johan lives in Ireland now?
  2. Yes agree and everything on those bikes are pretty much as light as can be but the weight penalty comes from the Lefty. The carbon version I think weigh 1765g. They are super stiff and by far the nicest suspension I ever used but they are not that light compared to other conventional forks that are in the region of 1.4kg.
  3. I really struggle to see why you call his argument poor, he has some valid points. For instance... "Perhaps we all need to be more tolerable of one another and work together?" Its been said before but we can say it again and again. Motorists should have a tolerance for cyclists and cyclists a tolerance for motorists.
  4. Its been a while since I last did a PPA race. I recently renewed my membership but have not got my new PPA number, will I be able to get my number tomorrow morning at registration? I cant remember how these races work, do you where your PPA number and only get a sticker for the race or do you get a complete new number for this specific race?
  5. Just out of interest, how much did you pay for the Direto?
  6. Just to add, a friend (that knows his stuff when it comes to tech and trainers etc) told me last week that the Elite Direto is very good value for money.
  7. That I cant say I only ever used the Neo and the Kickr, I got mine on a black Friday special for a very good deal. In hindsight I'm very glad I got the Neo as it was between the two.
  8. I dont know what a ton of cash is for you, but I can honestly say that the Neo is the best piece of kit that I ever bought. I recently used a kickr as well and its nice but the Neo is nicer, the Neo definitely makes less noise and for me the best part is that you dont have to plug it into the mains. And I dont have to calibrate the Neo, I think the Kickr needs calibration every now and again.
  9. That is so helpful thanks. With all these different type BB's you get nowadays I never now which cranks is compatible with what BB's.
  10. Can you do a complete service on the brain suspension?
  11. https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/look-s-track-cleats Normal DCS cleats https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/wheels-mfg-press-fit-30-threaded-bb Thank you
  12. Haha I can vouch for Andreas he wont do that. But yes those numbers are proper.
  13. Hi Andreas, a VO2max of 68 is pretty good. Who did the test for you? Your FTP is also very good. If I were you I would go see a coach, Erica Green is just down the road from you.
  14. https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/wheels-mfg-press-fit-30-threaded-bb Please!
  15. I recently got a smart trainer. For me it was between the kickr and the Neo (when cwc had the special). I read many reviews and they are very similar, in the end I went for the Neo and basically the only reasons were the Neo makes a tiny bit less noise and the main reason was you can use the Neo without any electricity.
  16. That is what i'm worried about. But I think I have found details in the Knysna Plett Herald paper
  17. Do you have any banking details where we can make donations? It would be great if we can pin the details on the first page of the Knysna Fires thread.
  18. Why? I prefer PF30 over frames like cannondale where the bearing goes direclty into the frame. Dont you think PF30 is more forgiving on a frame? That MFG bearing cups looks like a good concept. I will get that next time around.
  19. I recently start using trainerroad, I like it. They give you a nice structured training program and it does motivate me to get on the IDT. I think you can get a demo. I got it for a month and after that I subscribed for a year. Oh and it makes you suffer!! I'm using it with my iphone and smart trainer.
  20. I did not know that, its a very useful to have both. I have the Edge 510, and I recently got a tacx neo. I use the trainerroad app on my phone with the Neo and I could not use my garmin strap (Ant+) as my phone does have an Ant+ connection so I had to get a bluetooth strap(polar) but the new bluetooth smart straps does not connect with the older Garmin 510's (520 does have bluetooth smart capabilities) so I have to manually upload my data to garmin connect after each ride. But if the wahoo strap have both bluetooth and Ant+ then I can connect to my garmin and phone simultaneously.
  21. Its a nice event, I did it three years ago when all three days started at Wittedrift.
  22. How about this one please? http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/sunrace-10spd-cassette-ms2s
  23. If those are actual legit points, then it answers the WHY and What for me.
  24. Correct I realized my mistake that is why my post was deleted.
