  1. Shu. I could sell my trainer and finance my next France trip. Tempting....
  2. Shu. I'm no business guru but I'd rather stick to what I'm good at. I did have a little thought the other day tho. The Zwift bikes that appear in the game. Someone should license those and sell the real version of the virtual bike. 3 open mold frames. The climbing bike. The Aero bike. The TT bike. 3 build kits. Little bit of branding. Done.
  3. This whole trainer story is the same as computers. The money is in the software. No product to move. No warehousing costs. No manufacturing costs. Just a smallish team of IT nerds and a bunch of server space. Which you don't even need to buy anymore. The signals sent to the units aren't new. There have been feedback steering wheels in gaming for probably 20 years. People paying $15 a month to see their little cartoon dude ride up an imaginary Alp. Beautiful! I believe that the increased volume of people using these apps will see improvements in the offerings and hopefully more competition and better pricing.
  4. Ja the Zumo isn't either which is what I have. I just told Zwift I have a Diretto and it works fine.
  5. Agreed. I think in comparison to a high end treadmill wattbike or even rower, a smart trainer seems a bit of a bargain. Plus you can fold it up and put it in a cupboard. Try doing that with a treadmill. If you're time pressed or not as hard as the okes who are prepared to ride in the pissing rain or howling wind they are amazing pieces of equipment. Yes R20k+ is a lot of moolah to spend on a piece of exercise equipment but the easiest way to bring down the cost of ownership is to use it as often as you can. Okes must just hang tough for a few weeks. If they really want one they will be going for close to fokkol in the classifieds real soon.
  6. Is Willie still around? I'd love to ask him a question around his Spanish speaking and how that affects the teams that he can sign for.
  7. I love my spinning classes. Really missing those.
  8. Love your youtube channel Willie.
  9. Yeah it's the cutaway version with the built in tuner. I wanted a Takamine but the shop that sold the washburn to me said that that washburn was the better buy in the budget range that I was shopping in at the time. I had a Fender Stratacoustic as my first steel string acoustic but it was utter crap. Yeah I need to figure out my paincave setup a little better. that's the hottest area of my place but it's all I have.
  10. The electric is a Cort Cheapie. The middle one is a cheapie bought by my ex wife as a gift. The real gem is the steel string on the right. It's a Washburn D10 SCE LH. All are lefties.
  11. Typical Guy Richie. Nice light entertainment with lovable gangsters, good actors having fun and quotable quotes. I enjoyed it but I don't imagine it will win many awards.
  12. I am indeed. Well spotted. I did ADZ again tonight. OMG! 1.24. I nearly died. I think I'm good for a 1.15 on a VERY good day. But that's it.
  13. Haha. Should I put it on the floor maybe and get 2 little USB boys for the desk?
  14. I've had to switch the room back to the orientation it was before. There's a bit of a headroom issue as it is in the loft area of the building. Even for a shorterse like me. Anyway this is how the setup looks currently. I still need to get a monitor and neaten up the wire situation. Nothing does my head in like a bunch of wires all over the place.
  15. That's a nice route to ride.
  16. Just btw. Francis Cade did a virtual DOUBLE Everesting on Alpe du Zwift. 17696m 435km. That's around 17 hits on that "hill'.
  17. Stop and take a snappy or 2. It's a bucket list climb.
  18. I've done Alpe d'Huez (Improved)It's good.
  19. WHAT??? HEATHEN! The Alp is the most legendary of legendary climbs. It's only 13 or 14km but it's at an average gradient of 8.2% so it's damned tough. Anything under 80 minutes is pretty respectable. For referance the fastest recorded race time is 37.35 by Marco Pantani. The fastest non EPO fueled ascent is probably Quintana in 2015 with a 39 something. Over on Zwift the KOM is some chopper who did it in 28 minutes with an average HR of 106. JA RIGHT! I've done it on Rouvy and on Zwift and Rouvy felt MMMUCCCHHH harder than Zwift. Yes my trainer difficulty setting is 100%
  20. Pft. You just want everyone to know you've ridden Alp d'Huez.
  21. That looks Amazing!
  22. Moved a few bits an pieces around and now my "office" is my new pain cave. I need to procure a monitor but sadly that can only happen after lock down.
  23. Not serious. Quick burner to Camps and Back. It was so cool to see everyone out enjoying the sun. And man that Vida coffee was good.
