For IM the recovery weeks is still plenty of efforts and lots of time, instead of a 30k long run you still end up doing a 15k easy run. 6hr LSD bike could still become an 2 hr easy bike and in the end an recovery week can still be 10-15+ hours.
Might vary to indivduals and coach... but IM is a long day and its best to be prepared for it
I believe the "big boys" were out there yesterday to inspect
It appears that this type of seal has been used all over the province, even on a large stretch of the route used for the One Tonner
Too busy to #hammer to notice the grit
Excellent service and my helmet showed up on my doorstep today...exactly as expected.
Sorry to hear about the other hubbers experience.
Ordered some sunglasses on sale and was absolutely blown away when they were on my doorstep the next morning!
Ordered a helmet today and I guess I will have mail tomorrow again.
My experience with ASG over the years have been only exceptional!!
Oh man... just came back from a little cruise on the TT machine(still sitting in my trisuit on the couch) and mother of Mary that was sooooo much fun- Whatever my earlier recomendations were, scrap it- everyone needs to have TT bike!!! (If you saw my current smile/grin you would understand)
Needless to say; she ready for the Cape Ultra on the weekend!
I am actively using all the herbalife products, from the shakes all the way through etc.
The CR7 is like glorified fly pee... useless in my opinion( it ight help if you do a short cardio session or maybe as a slight electrolite replecment for after- I sometimes use it with a rehidrate and that helps)
What you actually need is the Prolong - carb based drink, 4/5 scoops a bottle for those 1+ hr rides.
Prolong etc is an fatastic product and I actively use it while training and have done a 10:40 Ironman with it.
I would normally train with prolong 4/5 scoops per bottle and a small protein bar for every hour, when summer is getting hot I will add a rehidrate to each of those bottles as well. For ironman I double the strength to 8 scoops per bottle+rehidrate(to dilute it with water on course) 1 protein bar per hour and add a gel per hour.
Rebuild endurance and Rebuild strengh as a recovery drink.

Setting the Zero State of the Monitor Whilst the Wattbike is factory calibrated there is a function to Set zero from the Wattbike Performance Computer. This can be used to ensure that the Wattbike has been returned to zero prior to testing. Select Setup from the Main menu, then Memory and simultaneously press all four buttons. Rotate the pedals backwards for a few revolutions to unload the Wattbike. The cranks should be unladened and in a horizontal position Press ENTER – the monitor will automatically Set Zero.
And then add 3 drops of blood from a virgin and whallah. Sounds like a cheatcode move for 90's PC games
Same thoughts here- £1499 then this a really nice machine. Then you can run a indoor pain cave a save your normal bike.
Considering the current wattbikes are for sale at around R50k (which is more than the new model price just converted)
You have 4 bikes hanging out in your lounge! I hope you're running a business or you're just living the BEST life..
Yes 4 bikes, have been struggling to sell my very nice previous road bike. But will keep the 2x Canyons and MTB - like they say the 1 who dies with the most toys win!
Anyway back to the topic... as for the TT bike the setup is very important hence why the upgraded bits and some longer Aero extensions. Will post a pic when she is done.
So basically if you want to(and can) go fast then do it, otherwise probably not.
And just for some jokes, but there is a fairly big diffrence between a TT and a Tri setup as well
Plenty of very decent second hand TT bikes on this hub....
I have gone TT and it is amazing and looks cool and makes the run easier and costs some Zandellas.
BUT if you are not at least an average to good cyclist the very aggresive setup could make it worse, TT bikes weigh a TON (I was shocked when I got a top of the range and struggled to lift it). So make sure you can ride otherwise do a 70.3 or your 1st full IM with the clip on bars.
Personally the bike helped me a lot but the most time gains for me to make is on the run so really working on it (no need to pay R100k for a TT bike and run 2hr more than the rest of your podium compeditors. Same with the swim.
Some food for thought- I am planning to ditch the TT bike for the 70.3 in East london because of the climbing profile.
I could still be persuded to join a team of anyone is short of staff...hopefully a bit on the sharper end if possible
Most probably not...especially if the invoice reflects that no money changed hands
How difficult would it be for Canyon to simply sell to SA? It's not like they'll be going to any extra bother or cost. They just transfer all the postage insurance etc on to the buyer. Will make warrantees a lot simpler too.
I have had some things needed to be replaced etc etc.... and they are really amazing at. No issues
I have done direct shipping as well as postage via another country... hqve posted my experience somewhere in a canyon in SA topic if yoj can find it.
In general if you want to do it then do it -overall my experience have superb!
Otherwise pm whatsapp or call me if want to know more of what I did...
Enjoy
Any suckers out there looking for a extra man in a team just let me know please- hopefully a nice strong team that wants to go fast'ish
Ordered some extremly nice bits and bobs for the TT bike... whatch this space
Actually recently had an affair with the Sram topic.
Pricewise, yes they have slightly been alligning, but still more expensive than the direct price conversion of the RRP listed on Sram website -so basically missing out on sale prices from overseas websites like like crc.
My biggest issue was that it took 2 weeks for the 3 retailers(big local retailers) that I asked for a quote of which I eventually gave up and had to ask Cape Cycle Systems) the local distributors to contact the retailer to supply me a quote. [i had some strange Etap parts needed for my TT bike]
3 shops -1 did not bother to get back, 1 manged to produce a quoute but with the absolute wrong parts on there, 1 managed to assemble most of what I needed.
Now if I was to pay the local prices then I kinda expect to get the service I would get from the international guys (ie being able to add all weird items to a chart and post it, within 3 days on my bike)
Now this is not what we are getting a.t.m.
Just for the record I email ordered from a local retailer on Saterday and hopefully picking it up Tuesday. The items he could not produce I ordered on Sunday from Germany and picking it up today(Monday) already.
I will be there and have space for 1 more bike and rider in the car leaving from Seapoint if needed
For all the Silverback fans out there- I have this beauty up for sale
There is another thread ... think its called canyons in sa where I have posted how I have shipped my two bikes for those intressted.
In summary the Speedmax I delivered to my sister in dubai and just visited and picked it up.
And the Aeroroad I shipped just a frameset directly to SA ( framesets has no duties)

I have not read all the previous post. But for those of you looking to start Zwifting I recently got the Apple TV 4k and works effortlessly. For under R3000 for the 32gb version and everything works seemlessly.
