Im not sure what the big deal is. Doping in cycling has been going on for as long as it has been a pro sport. Nothing has changed in the last 40 years or so. Only difference is nowdays media is instant and social and when a dude gets busted it goes viral for a few days then the next social story is on and evryone forgets this one. Facts are this Cycling as a "sport" has zero credibility its as credible as bodybuilding or WWF. The pros are all doped up they wouldnt have a snowballs chance if they didnt dope. The question i have is why do sponsors, fans media etc act so dissapointed , suprised when it happens??? The sport is a drug sport and that is that, either accept cycling for what it is " a sport that is heavily dependent on potions and witchcraft to make you go faster" or watch another sport. Simple as that. But please all the lance haters and lovers and DG haters/lovers get a grip its not new and its not going to stop, its call pro cycling either accept it or move along.

As far as i am concerned vertical ascent is THE most important stat on a ride. If a ride is 100km or 50km its irrelevant. Whats relevant is climbing. A 100km ride with 1000m climbing is much easier than a 50km ride with 2000m climbing.

Ive done both and would say they pretty much equal in terms of difficulty. Day 2 sani maybe edges it as w2w you wont have a 6-8hr day in the saddle.

I find its perfect on the climbs but its a bit hard for the downhills so i need to adjust something. So it looks like i need to put it on 2 perhaps and make sure its not on propedal when going downhill but on open? Is this correct?

yes i got the boost valve one, what the heck does that mean?? So basically 1 soft 2 harder 3 hardest....Thats when its on propedal?? Otherwise unlocked i dont think i have number 0 its a 2011 shock with boost valve.

Just got a new bike with the rp23 shock after having had a rp2 . can someone please tell me what the numbers 123 mean, which one is for lockout , open , propedal etc. When i ride i cannot feel that much difference on either setting.

Did the 42km, it was an awesome ride really nice singletrwck, good climbs and awesome scenery, one of the best rides I have done this year. Will defs be back.

Ear plugs to sleep at night, extra water bottle to piss in at night unless u want to get out of sleeping bag and tent and walk to bogs. Oh and sense of humour always helps

We might be doing a solid 5 hr ride leaving from sea point riding to hout bay onto to noordhoek up over the old winpad to tokai snaking thru the all the tokai singletrack down to constantia then on to newlands up past rhodes memorial up some to more to just before the blockhouse onto table mountain rd down to signal hill and pats track out to sea point. (phewww im tired just thinking of it.) But you welcome to join us , let me know if you keen its about 83km and 1600m of climbing takes roughly just under 5 hrs at a relaxed/ moderate pace.

Can we ride the long route on weekends or is it only for the race and if so is it marked so we dont get lost ?? I have to bring my mates

What would be a better bike for someone who is looking for more speed on climbs and looking to go faster generally. The price of a top spec 26er full carbon with all the latest bling etc is the same as an average middle of the line 29er. Was thinking of upgrading my 26er ds to a 29er, but perhaps its prudent to get a top of the line carbon 26er for the same price.

You right about the bad habits the trance literally floats over anything i do take lines that i probably shouldnt knowing the suspension sucks it up, its only weakness is its a bit heavy and slow to pedal uphills. Im pretty fit could be fitter so im not sure what 4hrs on a Ht would do to me.
