  2. found it a bit boring watching only the pro's & the women. what about the other racing groups? saw a motorbike with us for the first stretch on the highway & then nothing! also feel that they could show a lot more of the backmarkers.
  3. it wont rain! never underestimate the positive thinking of the collective!
  4. if a polar bear swings both ways, is she bipolar?
  5. ja ja GUMPOLE - i suspect that you are right! could be this AMAZON ANTI-TOBACCO MOUTH SPRAY stuff i have been squirting down my throat every 5 seconds. coffee - anti-tobacco, coffee - anti-tobacco, and so it goes on and on... on the other hand it could also be the domestique at home cleaning the toilet with my toothbrush?
  6. now i am starting to think that i am also coming down with something! - thanks guys!!!!! read this below and let it go! "If you suffer from recurring sore throats, it's possible that your toothbrush is the culprit. Many people couldn't tell you how old their toothbrush is; they just use it until it nearly falls apart--a bad policy because a toothbrush can harbor a lot of bacteria. If you get a sore throat often, you should change your toothbrush at least every month, and also after you've had a bout with any cold, flu, sore throat, or other illness that could leave bacteria." "Some people wake up almost every morning with a sore throat that disappears as the day goes on. Then at some point late in the day they develop a runny or stuffy nose. This can happen seasonally or all year long. This kind of sore throat is most commonly due to allergies. Because your nose is stuffed, you breathe through your mouth during the night. When you wake up, your throat is sore from all that dry air. In order to stop this kind of sore throat you have to deal with whatever is causing the allergies."
  7. seems like i am going to have to walk over there again just to look at the girl at the diadora stand! perhaps even try on a shoe or two.
  8. ok - now i am getting slightly uneasy ...
  9. oooo - i missed that one! can someone PLEASE take a pic and post it here!
  10. if my RHR was 41bpm i would most probably be dead!
  11. ok - been there done that. waited a LONG time in the open number collection area for my dads no. lic number collection was fast. expo is boring aside from the Cervelo SLC-SL and the R3-SL!!!! Very nice!!!! had multiple energy bars / energy gells / pills etc. stuffed into my hands and then told that that would be 5 bucks, R10, etc. - nearly threw one of the guys with their energy bars! a couple of hotties lurking around as usual (does one get cycling whores like you get banking whores? banking whores of course being the girls hanging around news cafe on a friday afternoon trying to hook a rich banker!)
  12. yep - foldable - cost about the same as the GP4000. morningside cycles has the best price. just watch out that you dont get the pro 2 race LIGHT - these have no puncture protection. pump them a little less than the recommended max & you will be flying!
  13. here we go again - Mich Pro Race 2!!!!!
  14. anybody keen to see how many freebie supplements & gells they can consume without ending in up in the Morningside ER? bonus points if you can hold down a couple of Jagerbombs as well!
  15. going just now - about 5min walk from the office (then again i might take the car to rest the legs for sunday!)
  16. i am not a medical expert, but i suspect that a cyclist burns away most of the stuff going into their bodies. if you are sitting watching TV all day & then flush down your GU gells with Cytomax followed by protein bar just before you go to la campagnola for a nice supper of pasta and ice cream you are going to be in trouble!
  17. good idea! i can motorpace behind 101% while we follow your taillights! luckily for me my LBS can get it sorted before sunday - unfortunately the supplier only has black spokes in stock, so seems that i will be starting a new trend - silver fulcrum racing1's with one black spoke! if i was riding carbon wheels i am sure the rim would be busted!
  18. at risk of stating the obvious: it depends on the actual circumstances on the day i.e. the wind(!) and how willing the pack is to work. even though all these seem to be rather flat i am sure that the course with less turns & better road surface would also have an impact. are you sure about the ascent on the Bela Bela?
  19. i think that the cervelo soloist with ultegra is also in this price range - i.m.o. you really cant go wrong with it! comes with velomax wheels.
  20. no matter what you get you are going to puncture! i ride both the GP4000 and Mich Pro Race 2 - must say that the Mich gives a better ride & does not seem to cut that easy.
