  1. YES HE IS A SCAMMER. I had the same guy contacting me for a seatpost I wanted.
  2. The MASTER is MP Suspension in Milnerton, they are the Ohlins importer
  3. That is very kind. @RobertWhiteheadis currently seeing what parts he has to make a complete bike so maybe you could contribute to him directly to compensate him for his time and parts.
  4. This is the bike. The forks are locked solid, the wheel bearings are shot, front derailleur is dead, rear is barely functional, I think the brake pads are missing so the pistons are stopping the bike against the disc etc etc the only thing that looks good are the SRAM discs
  5. Really? That would be amazing. Lete know how I can help. He rides a medium sized bike. I think anyone that rides 2 hours to work in the winter deserves to be given a chance.
  6. Thanks very much, appreciated. I'm going to get a new bike. His wheels are toast, brakes are toast, both derailleurs are hanging on for dear life. Makro had a Raleigh Nexus 29er for R1700 . Are they complete rubbish for that money?
  7. Thanks, that's very kind. This guy is constantly sending me voice notes expressing his gratitude. He says the bike drives like a car now! The truth is the bike is pretty FUBAR all over. I'm going to investigate finding him a whole bike because putting a crank on this may be throwing good money at a big mess.
  8. Well spotted, yes it does look like a mcyver job with that bolt through the crank shaft
  9. Hi, I'm looking to help a guy that cycles 2 hours each way from Fishoek to Somerset hospital in Green Point. He has a pretty beaten up Titan Racing MTB with 3x 8 speed groupset. The chain slips off the chainrings when you apply any power so I was looking for a crank or chainrings that might work. (the chain doesn't slip off the side off the chain rings, the crank teeth don't hold the chain as you pedal) Thanks in advance EDIT: Change of plan, crank not required anymore
  10. It doesn't have to be a 3x crank, a 2x would be fine. Are they available? The front derailleur is in bad shape and thesmallestvring is in the worst shape so I managed to get it to shift on the two outer rings only.
  11. I was cycling yesterday and a guy stopped me to help him with his bike. He is a security guard at Somerset hospital in Green Point and rides there from Fishoek every day!!!!!! It is a titan MTB with 8 speed something. I took the bike home and indexed the gears, tightened headstock, adjusted brakes etc but the chainrings are buggered and it slips over the teeth. I did what I could and he was very happy but the bike is generally a disaster. I wouldn't mind sourcing a crankset or chain rings but I have no idea what they are.
  12. Canyon have almost zero availability (last time I checked)
  13. This is the video I watched 5 years ago. I doubt there is another sealant that works this well.
  14. Hi Marc, I currently have a set of Roval CLX32's which have the 2 ratchets and 2 springs in the rear hub. I love that they are so quiet when freewheeling. I just bought a new set of wheels with the new 240 hubs. Can I change any of the ratchets to make this set of wheels quiet? Thanks in advance
  15. I keep telling you guys, I have used Orange Seal for 30,000km, I have never used a plug and it doesn't leave snot balls. Only once did a hole not seal and I used my spare tube. I'm in London at the moment and every single shop I have been in sells Orange Seal for road bikes
  16. Does anyone have a recommendation for a super fast tyre for a wide rim for a jeep track endurance ride. I currently have Maxxis Ikon 2.2 but the 30mm wide internal rim width makes the tyre profile very square and it feels like riding through thick mud
  17. Everybody has 'mechanic buddies' that know best and there are lots of stories on here detailing bad experiences with tubeless. I keep repeating the same thing here.... Orange Seal is the only sealant that seems to work. I have over 30,000km running tubeless over the past 4 years and only once I had to stick a tube in (which is really no big deal). I would guess that I have had at least 30 punctures in that time. Orange Seal with Goodyear F1's or Schwalbe Pro One's is a winning combination. Also, Orange Seal does not create a huge, disgusting, sticky mess like other sealants like Stan's. I now run 80psi but used to run 95psi and it seals all holes without issue. The only difference when forced to put a tube into a tubeless setup is removing the valve, otherwise the process is exactly the same. Not sure why people are suggesting it is really any different to a normal setup. As I said before, Orange Seal isn't as sticky and messy as Stan's so no big deal.
  18. I tried it about 5 years ago with a pair of non tubeless mavics and couldn't even get the tubeless tyre on
  19. I just noticed he did this in road cleats, even more kudos to that man
  20. Motorists causing bad vibes, swearing all over the world
  21. Sorry to hear that. How was your bike secured and how did they break it?
