Dude, if mighty mouse can get a 29er to fit, anyone can, he's not exactly a giant.

+1. The Mouse and I are about the same height. Riding a medium 29er at the moment, albeit with a shorter stem than the stock one.

Not sure why people get so worked up by the different sizes.

Ask this for any girl and lets hear what she says.... ;)

As much I am converted to 29", I am also getting irritated with all the 29er commentator comments on the Epic. Please stop, I might find it hard to find stock of my next 29er or spares. Don't spread the word any further, let us converted ones have the advantages all to ourselves!

what bothered me is that they're so in your face about it. I know its a new thing and it may be great or whatever. But really, don't rub it in my face that my alma gold 26" bike is slow and that it sucks.

i think of it this way:

on a vehicle: Speed-

a 13inch car wheel(mag) will accelerate the vehicle faster than a 17inch wheel.

(which is why F1 uses 13inch wheels )

however, the 17inch wheel gives higher top-end!

The Conclusion: 29er is good for cross-country mountain biking..rolls better, BUT is more difficult to climb with, and more difficult to steer thru tight singletrack!

It's not about how big it is, but rather what you do with it ;) .... I'm talking about the bikes of course ;)

Even Emily Batty likes riding the bigger stuff.

They should test the 2 bikes eg a 26 anthem v 29 anthem through the Jonkershoek singletarck up and down.

Then do a jeep track test over say 25km distance.

Say use 5 riders 10 bikes (5 x 26 and 5 x 29)

Maybe then we could get some clarity

I'm sure ... that's why it helps to have a range of sizes one can play with. Currently I have a 20", 26", and 29". I had a 24" but found the 26" to be better.

+ 1 million why dont the manufactures do this, at the end of the day what do they have to loose iif the 29" is quicer on the jeep track then people who mostl ride jeep track will buy a 29" if a 26" is quicker then they will buy a 26" wither whihc way you cut the cake the bike manufaturer is still selling bikes!
