I am a huge Brit gangster movie fan. Watched the new Guy Ritchie last week and loved it. Couldn't go with Snatch cause it might just be misconstrued as pornagraphic.

New Ritchie movie??

Are you serious? I thought you meant you figured out who someone you knew was on here.

DJR, I'm disappointed.

 Sorry, I was just slow, years slow, there is no excuse. Read the l4 as fourteen and then the dumb brain came up with anything other than Layer Cake........****, I must be dyslexic

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels for me, thank you very much

My one son the other day told me about the "most amazing movie" he watched during lock-down - In Brugge! Such a proud father!

The Gentlemen

Hugh Grant surprised me in this one. Only criticism I have is that they didn't make room for a Vinnie character. The plot twist was awesome, casting was incredible and the way he told the story from the first scene to the end was almost as good as Snatch.

Like those guys from The Bluff who just really live there, they're not really the OP Rough & Tough & from the Bluff se Muff af. But they like to think they are, because they/ve, like, been there all ma life, hay.

I lived on the Bluff from 1960 to 1984. Moved there when I was 4 years old.

For most of that time there were many lower income households (my family  included)and blue collar workers. As a teenager you had to be careful where you hung out on Friday and Saturday nights after the weekly wage earners had been paid. Brooze , strong men and bruised egos are a lethal combination. In addition there was the Recce camp at the end of the Bluff  stirred into the Boere vs Soetie mix.

So one learnt to smart about confrontations and that your hands bled if you punched someone in the mouth (teeth are sharp)

I would like to think my time on the Bluff taught me to be ambitious and able to stand my ground rather than "ruff n tuff"
