Uh oh..... Now Sugargate from the Aus/Eng test - video "showing" Bancroft putting sugar in his pocket during lunch.

Bad to worse...it appears the ball tampering was NOT the first time Aus used "strategic means" to change the condition of the ball...

What a bunch of silly billies.

Read about it on Tweetiebird yesterday

Hier kom groot kakka

And the Aussie bowlers destroyed the England batters with reverse swing, generating humiliating results for the visitors

Agreed. I'm guessing there are hundreds of reporters going through thousands of hours of footage now with new eyes...

They will certainly find more...

Surely they don't expect anybody to believe that this was the first time they got a bit impatient for some reverse swing. If the camera didn't catch him he would have gotten a poor performance review from his team in any case because the ball sure reverses more when Davey is taking care of it.

I would like some confirmation of this sticky tape story because the entire press conference was clearly concocted in a hurry and there wasn't much truth in the air. If you have to hide the object regardless it could just as well be sandpaper, not some boy scout version you made yourself.

Agreed! If you really want to come clean throw the piece of tape, yellow sticky material, sandpaper on the table.

Was telling a few folk that if Rabada keeps up his current strike rate through out his career he would end up being the best fast bowler in the world. Nevermind South Africa. One helluva of player is KG. Also a lot better batman than what his average indicates.

Let's hope he keeps his head and his body together... Remember a certain fiery Brett Schultz... He had a test average of 20 odd

Yebo yes. We definitely don't want Rabada doing a Schultz. At the moment though it does seem that Rabada is being managed well and that he too is doing his part in keeping himself fit.

But since you mentioned him, I was trying to recall if we ever lost a match in which he and AD played for SA. All of recollections is that we won when they played together.

Well, the "objects" used is different, but their objectives was exactly the same. Get the ball to change its direction.

Actually, retaining the shine IS allowed and it is a moot point whether he was sucking the sweet to enhance the retention or just because sucking a sweet is common on the cricket field. It is not even clear whether the gob even helped to retain the shine.

Speeding up the deterioration of the ball is NOT allowed, rubbing it with any foreign object is not allowed, plotting as a team to go out there and do it is not allowed.

Furthermore, getting the least experienced, most dispensable, least sure of his spot in the team, player to do the dirty work is morally reprehensible. Warning him that the umpires are on to him is plain crooked and him then lying to the umpires by hauling out his glasses bag, is the sign of a skelm who had set up his alibi in advance.

Anyone else think that Aus played badly on purpose yesterday? Or maybe they just gave up and weren't into it after everything came out.

They were outplayed from the first session. Apart from one session (when they were retrospectively prob using a doctored ball) they were never in the game

ja, let's talk about the cricket!

problem is is that we don't know how many tests he will play, due to the fact that test cricket is taking huge shots from T20.

he could retire at 26 and play exclusively at leagues around the world for all we know!

No don't think it was deliberate, but obviously they were affected.

There was the chance of them batting out the day, with the final wicket Tim Paine was given out LBW and he reviewed it (successfully). If they wanted to fold then he would have just walked.

Oh man, what a blast from the past. Brett Schultz. What a awesome bowler. Richard Snell, Mayrick Pringle, good old days.
