My boet is on crossmark (came on new bike) before riding the bike he wanted to change the tyre's but so far he is really happy with them. 

If you want to be like Niño I have a new set of 2.4wt Aspin at a 2 for 1 price if interested 😁

One year in on a set of Butcher T7s. Very disappointed to see wear like this. 3000km. 

This is the front tyre. Rear looks a little better funny enough. 

Time to replace before Karkloof.

I REALLY hope you mean 300km...T7 I would expect to get about 1500km using a Butcher up front and about 900km out back before it's worn out well beyond my preference. As for knobs tearing off that has not happened to me in the ~3 years I have been running a Butcher out back. Granted I am picky with straight line braking traction so I swap rear tyres generally after about 450km (MaxGrip, T9) or 900km (MaxTerra, T7 (Gripton etc)).

I mean your tyre pressures can contribute to excessive side knob wear if it's too low causing the sidewall (Grid Trail is not a particularly strong/stiff casing and I assume you are running that and not Grid Gravity - which MOST ppl shoudl be running out back - inserts are a bandaid for a problem that shouldn't exist). i.e. excessive casing squirm with load up your side knobs even more  etc. Anyway, Butcher is by far my fav rear tyre tread pattern around at the momemt and the Black Diamons (well Grid Gravity) now casing is plenty strong enough to run insertless at a pretty low 25PSI over the rockiest stuff CT and surrounds have to offer.

Good to know my expectations are too high haha. But yes, 3000km +-. I guess I'm ok with replacing tyres once a year then. 

I'm ok with tread wear which is normal but knobs just shearing off is poor.

Personally I'm loving the Vittoria range at the moment.

I'm running the Agarro front and Barzo rear and it's a nice combo - grippy enough for rowdy trail riding and fast enough for gravel roads.

3000km on a gravity tyre is about 3 times what I'd expect to get from a tyre.

Manufacturing Fault or Maybe Those Tyres Were on the Shelf for 7 Years before you Bought Them.

Buy Something Else Next Time.

Have realistic expectations....3000km ia a wholly unreasonable one. If you want you can use vulcanising compound or contacts adhesive n glue em back on.

It's actually pretty decent stuff, I fixed my cycling shoes with it before and might be worth a try on that tyre to salvage it for a training tyre, considering what tyres cost these days.

Try Something else next time. Another Brand Maybe. Knobs should not break off like that.

After 3000km...I beg to differ

I’ve had Schwalbe Hans Dampfs that lasted more than 3000km and didn’t disintegrate like these Butchers. 

My fiance’s Butcher and Purgatory combo also lasted longer with bo disintegration like this. 

Based on the above I posed my question. I think I got my answer thank you.

Please don't Ride on these Tyres and Don't Glue Anything.

Rubber is a Natural Material and After a Long Time the Oils Dry Out and Cracking can Occur (7-8 Years)

If the Tyres are Washed with Degreaser or Other Chemicals the Rubber Can be damaged Prematurely.

Bad Processing During Manufacture can also cause Premature damage.

That tyre's rubber layer is coming off the casing which implie poor bonding during the vulcanising process. They'll never grant warranty even though its a manufacturing issue. Best to move on
