Use a proper drink and ditch the gu gels.

You only need a certain amount of carbs per hour and taking the gel and the drink are a waste.

I only use gu gels when I have run out of drink and a riding partner gives me one etc. And them falling out of your pocket ha I don't think they ever put in in their pocket in the first place.

I agree. Ride to SBR, two loops, all you need is two bottles of water. Then by the time you get to the Portuguese Veggie shop on the way home, you are so stuffed, you eat a few cabbage leaves, have a coke and plod home pedalling squares.

HTFU!!!

Very sad indeed and even worse is that innocent animals had to die from it.

But can they prove the packets were from cyclists and not from trail runners?

Whatever the point you're trying to make here, you do need to get your facts in order. Suikerbos is primarily a training ground for road miles, it consists of a 60km one way tarred loop.

Lately there has been an MTB trail added as well though.

So it could well have been either or, but as someone else said, we as cyclists need to take some responsibility here.

 patches is your domestique ??

Yeah, I use his quotes, and he repairs my tubes. Washes the bikes sometimes as well.

You have obviously hired me on a falsified CV.

Have you seen the black bags full of "empty promises" (tubes I plan on repairing but never do), as well as the general cleanliness of my bikes.

If I were you I would fire me!

what a shame. another 'safe' ride spot ruined. I will miss it if this closure goes ahead. the soft drink cans and glass bottles dropped by vehicle occupants was also quite remarkable from time to time.

Yup, you goo pigs may not know this (probably don't care)

How hard is it to buy one of those little goo bottles and decant your goo before the ride? Much easier to use and no mess, on hands, in pocket or on the trail or road. F*ck wits.

This sucks - SB is one of my favourite training rides.

Is there no way that we can set up a forum / panel and try and negotiate with the park???

Anyone keen to try?
