I went back and forth for about a year on the coffee machine I wanted to purchased.

End of the day it depends on your budget and what you want from a machine.

For me I wanted something long term that would offer the best coffee extraction I can get.

The Nespresso is great as it's easy to use/clean and offer great variety but becomes expensive long term due to the costs of the pods.

The bean to cup machine also a great option but from the machines we had in the office they became high maintenance if you want consistently good coffee.

So a year later I got me the Breville BES860 Eespresso machine from at Home. Costs R5600.

Took me about 2 weeks to master the skill and get the right settings.

I'm very very happy with my purchase especially now that i'm the Red Espresso buzz which none of the other machines can do.

I buy small batches of recently freshly roasted beans from my local coffee shop so now you don't find me that often at Seattle coffee.

Bought the same machine a while back and I have yet to find a coffee shop that can match the quality.

This machine (once mastered) is insanely good. Super adjustable yet easy to use. My one complaint though is the steam pressure takes a little bit of time to build up but at the price you cant fault it.

I wonder if anyone can help me? I have quite an old Astoria AEP 1-group (Dora) espresso machine which I have been fixing up and I need a replacement heat exchanger boiler like the one in the attached pictures. Does anyone know where I might get a new one or, alternatively, does anyone know of someone who could rebuild the existing Hx boiler which will involve reconstructing or replacing both of the threaded nozzles?

I'm desperate so I can get the existing Hx boiler to just about anywhere in SA.

Thanks for any assistance.

I make the occasional espresso with my mocca pot over a weekend, during the week I drink instant ( Douw Egberts) as my wife makes it most of the time :-)

I've decided to buy a bean2cup machine so that wife can make espresso for me and she can have the options for milk based drinks.

For R13k I can go for the delonghi which I saw today at Dionwired, apparently a new model. Seems very nice with plenty options.

But the Jura looks SO nice !! Seems to have less features though ...

What would you go for or is it a waste of money and I should rather buy something for R6k to make quick cappuccinos ?
