Getting weight off my back and onto the bike for R2R...

I used to have one of those... or something like it...

Mine was blue. I never had a cool Reebok seatpost clamp though.

Funny how things do the rounds. That must have been about 16yrs ago

Haha - those still had a "padded" section to carry the bike on your shoulder...

I've been using a triangle frame bag on the HT I've been riding but have decided to use a dual sus so needed a slightly different shape. When hauling yourself, a bike and 20L plus of 'luggage' across the country whats 'cool or not' kinda goes out the window. The less of the 20L I have on my back the better  .

Would love a review of how this compares to the Niner fork please... When the Martini Ritchey is done of course. ;)

Edit spelling

If I remember correctly, the Marshall had a Ritchey fork on his P-29er initially, but found that the Niner was a better ride... I tihnk there was a pic in the single speed thread.

True that, it was the older Ritchey fork, I rode Attakwas with that fork.

Between those two I prefer the Niner, the new fork I believe is different.

Nathrix prefers the Ritchey fork, he has the older version.

I have the older Ritchey fork, have always wondered how much better (if any) the Niner fork would be on my bike.

The Niner fork is light, just over 600 grams.

Any rigid fork becomes hard after 40 k's though :w00t:

You said it! At 40km's you start wishing for some squish!

The lightness may help my wheelying ability, all the years of riding, and I still cannot maintain a proper wheelie...

Nice bike man, I almost bought one but common sense prevailed over going into debt for a toy. I still wish I had pulled the irresponsible trigger. Oh well at least my wife thinks I did the right thing. Enjoy the bike.

Haha thanks a lot. I have a strict no random debt policy after some bad experiences. So I have saved and sold a lot lately. :)
