did something maybe brake and that caused the fall, looked like his front wheel just stopped, like a spoked that broke...

G

Seems like he was changing gears when he came out of the corner. Perhaps his gears got stuck and when that happens it usually looks like the whole bike comes to a halt.

Hats off to him for not giving up.

Have a look again, looked more like his front stopped (locked) instantly,

did not look like a problem at the back, which would have caused the back to slide out.

Watched it a few times now...

It looks more like his front tire burped, not ideal while standing and cornering.

There was no other rider near him and it wasn't a chain drop since he jumped straight back on and pedalled away.

Bad luck :(

A bit disappointed. Why are our competitors making mistakes or having bad luck in the big occasions. Even Caster almost stuffed the 800m up because she was fast asleep. Mayby Burry should have just saved himself for the last lap, but he showed his cards way too early.

perhaps his mistake was getting eaten up in the start, but as for saving himself..well i think he was spent. H had to move from 19 to 4 and then catch up a 15 odd second gap - that would have buggered him. Then he had that issue on the uphill rock garden which also buggered him. Dont think it had anything o do with showing cards - those three set up an insane pace from the get go and joining them would have used up energy - as it clearly did

Jaroslav won the race by powering up past Nino on that last climb and getting the inside line for that corner. And he has beaten Nino in the sprint before (Czech MTB WC last year I think). I think the 29'er suits him because he is so tall, otherwise there was no advantage.

You got it wrong there, I think Burry lost it because of something at the start, maybe he started too slow, but it took too much to make up the gap while the front 3 were cruising along.

Eat humble pie 26ers, marketing gimmick my arse! 29er dually rules!!!

Yip, Nino did what he does best. Hit the front and go like stink. Well done to whoever can pip him in a sprint. There's not many in mtb that can.

Edit: the hub god of mtb says I'm an idiot baby, so I probably pulled the above statement out my arse.

.JA nothing to do with the fact that Kulhavy and Nino are absolute beasts, they won because of 29er...hang on Nino was on a 27 er...and lost by half a second ... that must mean that 27 ers are history everyone run out and get 29ers and you to could ride like Kulhavy.

Yes, i was probably wrong in thinking he had any chance after catching up. But anybody who has done this knows that it is almost like MX; you have to be there in the front pack after the start because the track is just too narrow once you get caught behind the slower okes, and then you loose contact with them very quickly trying to get past them slow riders. I will give him the benefit of the doubt though, maybe he had a small technical at the start that we don't know about.
