OK so, my Stage frame theoretically lands at my door in February. Pretty well set on all the parts but have a chain line and crank question. I'm intending to run 1x11 XT gearing but not sure about cranks.

Q1. With the +5 system do I need to adjust the chainring spacing on the drive side at all ( i.e with spacers etc). I know I'll need to adjust the wheel dishing but should I be lookin out for anything specific with the crankset?

Q2- I'm keen on the XT cranks but I hear they only take M8000 chain rings because of the BCD. I like Oval rings ( no debate required, I just like them), is this true about the XT specificity?

M8000 crank will work without spacing the chainring. The hub mounting position is spaced 5mm outward in the swingarm (+5 chainline) and that's why the rim needs to be dished 5mm inward. Evobikes sell's Absolute black oval chainrings specifically for M8000, think they got 32 and 34 in stock at the moment. That +5 chainline is a clever trick from Pat, wish he thought of that when he was designing the OneTen.

I'm upset by someone calling them "kriss king" its upsetting. But otherwise nice looking frames.

What's the deal with Scott though? Awesome that they're on a SA brand.

Scott pulled the plug. The press release said something like they have achieved what they wanted to.

Teams and sponsors come and go. These boys have been on Merida in the Garmin Adidas days, Scott in the African MTB era and probably some others that I don't recall.

It's cool seeing different sponsors stepping up, and I'm glad that Scott is still involved with Robyn DE Groot so they haven't pulled all support out.

You've got a great narrow/wide chainring manufacturer and supplier right here in SA. Just order from Kalbo. They last longer than Wolftooth/Raceface etc. Oval, round, whatever you want. 104 BCD.
