There'll be no TV cameras where you're using this machete.

There are knives you see on survival shows. Then there’s the real deal. With a generous sized blade, comfortable handle and reinforced nylon sheath this is the survival machete to use when the only thing you’ll be cutting to is your destination.

The Chanceinhell™ is a beefy fixed blade survival machete designed by award-winning custom knife-maker Ken Onion of Kaneohe, HI to be tough, strong, and work like an ox. A thick, carbon steel blade has a black powder coat that is durable in extreme environments. Built for hard use, it’s easy to sharpen after you've put the finishing touches on your handmade hotel in the woods.

  • Black Corrosion Resistant Blade Finish
  • Football Texture Handle Grip
  • Reinforced Nylon Sheath

If you haven't noticed yet I'm a bit of a CRKT fan , with the M16 speartip being one of my all time favorites! Please let us know how it works. At that price I'll be very keen to add one to the collection.

PS. You get a CRKT axe as well. For the price I'm not sold yet but damn it is pretty:

there will be serious jungle bushwacking so we do not want a piece of crap (ie. lasher from builders).

who are the experts in this (CT area pref, but not essential)?

these guys appear to be the gerber importers, just waiting on response from them

Some help needed please.

I was given an old Opinel nr 9, nothing special, but I like old things...

It's missing the lock ring. Can I get that somewhere?

Tks.

Not sure about price these days but the easiest and cheapest option is most likely to buy a new nr9 and just move the ring over.

I drove past Awesome Tools this morning and then jy bakkie suddenly veered left, through their gate and into the or king lot. Before I could say "knife" I found myself in the service centre and the man with the good hands was sharpening my C33 for me.

While I was there I sommer got myself an Opinel no8 to carry when I go to civilized people.

Jeez Louise, the c33 is such a joy after they sharpened it that I'm contemplating buying another Leatherman. Any leatherman.

I borrowed a bit set from the Grease Monkey that had the teensy weeeny torx bit in it that I needed to rebuild my Gerber X21 that became very loose.

The Gerber is the knife I carry when I go to places where I hope I don't need (or potentially lose) a nice knife. It's ugly and big but it seems to revel in being treated like a redheaded stepchild.

The C33 is my regular EDC, mostly used for cutting packaging material. Nice size to live in a tight pocket.

The Opinel will mostly be used next to a fire to cut meat on weekends. Tough life.

I Decided to finally get on the Maxamet party bus. Will be carrying and using this one exclusively for the next couple of weeks to see if the steel lives up to the hype.

Did it meet your expectations?

My skeletool went MIA, and it is the lost tool that I regret most.
