I went into this idiot's store once to get some broken spokes replaced on my bike. I figured I'd ask him to do a quick lube and adjustment while he had the bike.

It was a bit of a rush job, which he said he'd try very hard to pull off and would SMS me when done. Anyway, deadline was missed which I was prepared for. When the SMS came through I took a while collect due to work issues.

When I did collect, the bike had basically been washed and greased, not serviced, and the guy had failed to replace the broken spokes, which was the reason for the visit in the first place. These guys are very disorganised and I didn't like being reprimanded for not collecting my bike on time when he worked very hard to have it ready early as requested (especially considering the fact that it wasn't ready early in the first place and the deadline for "early collection" had been missed by him)

My last visit that was...

I'll give Collin a call. bicycle-trader.com is my lbs and I have never had anything but out of the way great service from them. No nonsense bs sales mumbo jumbo, just plain straight talk and solutions to problems. I'll keep spending my money with them sorry to hear about the OP's issues

I've bought and sold a bike there. No problems. Prices agreed online and paid via eft bothways and both times goods were to agreement. no BS. Very surprised by this incident. Not cool.

I have a set of those clamps but will only be around on the 2/3 of January. You can have them.

Never been to that shop, just tried having an email conversation with the dude about some wheels - doesn't know wtf is going on.

Dear Mr Bicycle Trader

I came into your shop this afternoon around 16:50, hoping my maiden visit to your establishment would be a good one.

I do hope you remember me, I was wearing a white cap, blue shorts and grey T-Shirt.

I am Afrikaans, and had a bit of trouble explaining exactly what I need, although I think you had a good idea, that I just needed a clamp to fit my SRAM X7 shifters., because they were on matchmakers with my previous set of brakes I replaced.

What shocks me is that you at first did not want to sell “your spares” as you may need them.

I will admit that I didn't know exactly what diameter, or size etc the clamps must be.

Then your agitation towards me, when I tried to explain what these clamps “should look like”.

What really upset me was when I walked out, you shouted “asshole” at me in front of all you other customers.

I welcome you to come and tell your side of the story, or a public apology, but your shop, will never be my LBS.

I don’t do business with rude and unprofessional people.

Your attitude shocked me.

And people ask me why im so picky and only deal with two shops in SA , if they cant help me or i cant find it online i dont buy it .

Karma you a better man than me my friend , i would have had a case laid against me this morning for assalt.

I've only had good service from them.

In fact, the only LBS that assisted in problem solving, a shock problem and got it right! clap.gif clap.gif Other LBS, stated buy a new one, only solution!

Have done a number of services, ALL good and helpful service.

Yes, the oldman, does assist in the odd thing when shop is busy. Give the guy a break, believe he is over 70 and does it to earn a couple of Madela's to keep going. Respect is my opinion.
