Chinese Carbon Thread

Hey guys

I'm looking to drop some cash on a ICAN P8 120mm 29er/27.5+ frame.

My Father in-law Works in Hong Kong and my Mother in-law will be visiting him over Easter. So I'm asking her to bring the frame back for me. (saves me a chunk of cash)

What would you recommenced, that she just declares the frame and pay 15% up front as she goes through customs?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've bought a few frames from China and have always just collected them from the post office. Never any problems. I just pay the amount that has been pre-calculated by customs.

In your case, I would suggest declaring it and yes, pay the vat.

Don't know what you paying for the frame but the sellers normally don't mind giving you an invoice for less.

I bought my frame in December and it came through fine without duties. Just vat.

my wheels were charged with both  (Bfn)

and so were my friend's wheels (Pta)

Thats a good Idea! However I wont be collecting a parcel. My Mother inlaw is bringing it with her on her way back from HK. With the rand where its at right now its a steal. 550$ Seriously, I cant buy a 2nd hand Alu frame off the hub for that.

Looks great Mickeym35, like that frame colour.

Is there some significant to the name on the frame? Or is it just the brand name?

I will do a full review when I get a gap. Haven’t fully tested it yet.

Solty did the spray job myself. The name Cwili River is a little river that runs into the sea in Kei Mouth where all my family is from. My favorite spot in SA!

@Boerklong Did you also build a CS-821 from XMC? Where did it crack?

Nice looking bike that!

Cool name as well!

No it was a different frame from a different supplier.

So far communication is good.

They have requested a pic of the serial nr in head tube (I swear you can't see it until a flash hits it. Fooled me for 10min).

From 9-3-2018

Sent warranty request.

13-3-2018

Received request

Apologised for late reply.

Asked for receipt/purchase details

14-3-2018

Recieved purchase details.

Asked for serial nr in head tube.

Confirmed claim was sent to factory.

Dont want to give name of supplier just yet as everything is going very well.
