Is it just me or is there a whole lot less Hub-hype going into W2W than S2C?

By now the S2C thread would be 20 pages long with questions, advice, concerns, banter, you name it.

I know I'm quietly pooping myself because I'm still covered in winter cobwebs and there's just five weeks to go!!

just realised this morning that it is only 5 weeks away. There are going to be some painful weekends between now and then.

I've been off sick for 2 weeks, but your post inspired me to go ride the ongegund section of the route. Man theres a lot of awesome single track...

A lot of people complained that it was too hard (adventure) so that is why it is cut out. I sent them a few mails saying they shouldn't but they fell on deaf ears. My partner last year had only been riding for 11 months and she managed just fine. Last year I will do this race. It is fun but not very challenging. Next year would rather do Cape Pioneer solo.

Don't get me wrong this race is awesome and super fun but it didn't challenge me.

Sad they cut that section out. It was good riding.

Then do the race instead

I was kind of thinking along the same lines as Velouria. If you don't find a 3-day stage race with about 4,5K meters climbing challenging, then maybe you are not going fast enough

It is the new single track section just before we run over the mountain. Probably the best part of the race!

U talking about han se kop singletrack? If that was the best of the race then u missed day 2

Can anybody tell me if there are "charging station" for electronic devices?

Do you hand in your phone & pick it up later or can you chill on a 'poof' while your phone charges & enjoy the free wifi(?)

What gears are you running? Will be keen to hear how you do. Lourensford last weekend was all rideable. For that race I ran a 32-20 but my training gears are 36-20. Should have run 34-20 last weekend. Nothing I couldn't get up. Loved it.

Same, before the Lourensford was running 32x18. I'm very tempted. Dunno if my partner will be happy thou....

W2W vs.S2C

Did Sani2C this year and it was awesome.

Can do either S2C again in 2014 or W2W.

For you guys which have done both, what do you reckon? Keen to heart the reasons.

Thanks!

W2W with out a doubt in my book. The riding for me is on a different level. Nothing get dumbed down, but it all remains rideable. The vibe in camp for me is also better. My 2 cents anyway.

Last year one of the SP, Nashua I think, hosted a full on charging station with hundreds of cables. Unfortunately I have learned it doesn't mean they will be there again this year!

I have heard lots of different opinions on which one is better (from people who have done both), but Sani2C probably the more popular one of the 2.

But if I were you I would choose W2W - just to experience new things & ride new places and not just do the same thing over and over again + You would then have a first hand opinion of which one is the best when you choose your race for 2015 :)

(Just make sure you don't lose your Sani2C entry, might be difficult to get back in..)

I dont think it is the right thing to do. I struggled there because of a broken cleat, but all the rides should be the same!
