Something that really p!sses me off about some of these development riders is how they treat their bikes. Sure, the bikes are sometimes entry level etc, but that is no reason to THROW the bikes onto the ground etc. No matter how crap your bike is, LOOK AFTER IT DAMMIT!

Why was no criminal case opened? That is theft plain and simple!!

Good question.

Sorry to hear.

Not cool.

Boils down to the same principle as the old saying;

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; teach a man.......

Some light shed on the reason for a case not being opened...

From the above:

"Allsound Security THE BIG QUESTION - WHY NO CASE OPENED ? This is a sensitive issue. As it was unclear exactly who the thieves were, arresting someone for theft would have been difficult. However, in an ideal world, the coach should have been charged with being in possession of stolen property. The victims were happy to have their bikes back. The team may well find themselves out of sponsorship for future events."

Wait a minute...

It is grossly unfair on genuine development riders and their mentors to make broad generalisations. Think for a moment what Martin Dreyer and many others do.

This particular bunch (and their "coach") should have been nailed. Hard.

Plenty of little rich kids treat expensive bikes badly, whats the difference?

Must be a Knysna thing, during the last Stage of the Knysna 200 last year my partner and I came across some kids from the local sports school that benefits from the race dragging a felled tree across the track.

When they spotted us they clambered up the embankment and started pelting us with stones when we were forced to dismount to climb over the tree.

Crazy!

Same happened to my partner and myself, we rode over the tree tho but they were still throwing stones. I know Patric did go there to sort it out but still, the kids we/he aims to help are the 1's seeming to cause issues.

1 girl came in with a cut leg from the lil Bass Teds!

They shouldn't only find themselves without sponsors, they should find themselves without entries, the team should be banned from competition. And how, may I ask are potential future sponsors going to know that they are tainted if no formal charges are laid???

it is wrong in both cases. I just get soooooo angry to see someone with nothing, that finally get something due to the good graces of others, that can't be bothered to look after the stuff they do get
