I am not a sadist, but hell, I would have loved to see this lie down....must have been something Will-E-Cayote would have been proud of

So would I! We need to get CCTV cameras on our trails. :P

... that you rip both soles right off your shoes?!?!

post-7796-0-80938400-1377145495_thumb.jpg

Took a bit of a tumble at Big Red Barn on Saturday. Carried too much speed down a descent, into a drop off, into a corner... and subsequently, rather ineloquently, dismounted by tossing myself over the handlebars.

Now, I've gone over the handlebars before, but never have I ripped the soles of my shoes. I was wearing my Sidi Dominator Pro 5's which are about 18 months old. So, the shoes aren't new and have some mileage on them, but I didn't expect this. I'm baffled.

I say submit to ASG or Sidi for a claim surely this shouldn't happen on a crash, probably out of warranty already, but give it a go anyway?

Flat. Pedals :whistling:

Dropper post

That must have been Cirque du Soleil stuff though. Did you get to test your new Rudy Project dome protector in the process?

Dropper posts don't help if you ride like an idiot.

That was the first thing I checked! lol My first thoughts, even before worrying about broken bones, were "oh f&%#, my new helmet!!!!" But, it's all good... except for the shoes, that is.

Thats strange, is your bike ok?

Or did you lose your tyres too

I know it takes away a lot of the effect when I say this :P , but I came off it relatively unscathed. Lucky, I guess...

My bike is fine as well. After the crash I duct taped my shoes and even still rode home.

Had a sore elbow and hip and a sore body on Sunday morning, but was back on the spinning bike by Tuesday.

LOL

You shoulda been riding with flat pedals :-)

Looks like the cleats/soles we're not ready to follow you over the bars

Yip, and apparently if you were also wearing 5.10s they would have stuck so firmly to the pedals that you would have ripped the cranks off the bike.......

Contact SIDI and ask them about their crash replacement policy on shoes. (Who knows, they might have a sense of humour and give you 70% off on your next pair, like it was a helmet)
