You forgot to add the cost of the telephone call to complain to the organisers!

im cheap that way ... I prefer to focus on the small things to distract me from a good day out on the bike

I have to say I've learned something very valuable from this thread.

Take some cash with on the ride when I do my first Argus in March I think it is? Top Tip there!

No, you are thinking wrong. Take some chain pins with and abuse the cyclists and make lots of cash :whistling:

I wonder if anyone else has thought about this novel idea of taking extra 'stock' to race in the hope that their time with result in 'profit'

I do it all the time... 'you see a guy stopped on the side of the road and shout 'you ok?'... when he says no, instead of riding past like everyone else who asks, stop.

If he wants a tube whip one out and say 'thats 100ZAR'.... when he whinges shrug and ride off.... Either way you did more than the 600 other cyclists who asked, got the 'no' response and carried on riding...

Eish.... I am amused today by the whinging and moaning. If its not the weather its the price of emergency help or someone driving too slow or the fact that 2 races fall on the same weekend...

Pay it and ssshhhhh or walk.

If you had done your prep (or conversely not tried to save 13 grams) you would have had your own and wouldnt need that pin. Sorry but true....

dont even think you need any cash. There are these dudes on scooters with spares ready to go.. dont even think they ask anything for them. They will even pump it for you.

This was in the tail ender group :P

Highjack - a big thumbs up  to the Cycle Lab technical stand at the start. My rear derailleur needed adjusting as kept on slipping gears. Turned out that the adjuster screw was stripped and needed replacing. This was all done at no charge and within 10 mins

This could be the start of the "new Cycle Lab". Starting to offer value for money.

Pusher, actually not.. The guys at the start this year and last year are from Cycle Labs Boksburg. Speaking to them they charged their normal price for spares and zip for labour. Had to pay their 4 techies double time as it was a Sunday. Not the sort of thing I would want to do.
