Anybody here priming the veg seed prior to planting? I attended a lecture yesterday which covered this topic and the benefits are astounding. By priming your seed you can achieve germination up to 3 days quicker as well as increasing your germination success..

Just thought I'd share.

Yeah, do you mean soaking the seeds in water before planting?

My friend does that and plants it in wet cottonwool or newspaper. He has great results but then again he uses i think epsom salts on some of his plants as well.

Yes. Just 24 hours in warm water. You should remove the seed from the water before cracks form. That is an indication of germination. Actually germinating the seed would work best in seedling trays in a well draining nutrient rich medium.

Unless you are doing to Bonsai thing it would be better to get them of the pots . And although they make great shade when they get big don't plant them around you driveway or for swimming pool shade !!

Plant carrots and onions in a small dirt mound also make sure that there are no stones etc. Soil shuld be sandy.

Eggplants look like they struggling until they kick in. Mine will probably produce from nov onwards
