I have never had much success with coriander. Other herbs have thrived but never coriander.

Any tips on where I should be planting it or anything else?

Thank you

looks pretty simple to make - just googled it. 2 x 20l buckets fitting into each other. Then you just need to by the recycling bran.

Yip, they don't even have to fit into each other, there's a kind of tray/ seperator at the bottom in order to collect the fertilizer probiotic liquid stuff that would be the only tickt thing to source/ make and a tap with seal at the bottom.

But at the end of the day it was also about supporting local.

lol, we have a little one on the way.

most of the garden is now focused on little people food, so the sweet potatoes will be processed and preserved for future use (no child of mine will eat that purity processed junk)

Also made my own and didn't do processed food for the children. Check out Annabel Karmel web page, they have some nice recipes for baby food and first meals etc.

ok so do you just drain off the liquid every couple of days and pour it over your plants?

Used to have issues as well. Recently found out they they thrive in cool shade.

Where I have planted it now, it does not even see sun apart from maybe midday.

I tried the lots of sun route. It didnt work for me.

Thanks, I will try both and see how it works. I have been buying the plants as seedlings as did not feel like germinating from seed but I think that I will try germinating rather and see if that also makes a difference.

Pleasure. Where in SA are you? There are some pics of my ibc somwhere in this thread.

Port Elizabeth.

I am  making life a bit difficult for myself because my system will be in an outside living area, so I am also trying to make it look good aesthetically as well as produce successfully. Also using 2 types of system -  NFT pipes on the wall which will flow into a grow bed.

Nice! I wraped mine in shade cloth. And put palet wood around it to make it look nicer and to keep the sun out of the tank. Try to keep it a dark as possible, algea became a big problem in mine. Also wrt fish. The tilapia I bought all got sick and died during the winter. If I was you I would stock it with goldfish or koi. Or if you can catch barbel, bass or kurper in a dam nearby they would work well and are good eating. The reason I asked where you are is because there is a nice aquaponics farm in muldersdrift.

Edit: Here is a SA online store. It is the farm in muldersdrift. They are pretty helpfull. Also you will need to add this to your system as soon as you see your leaves are not nice and green and start yellowing http://www.myaquaponics.co.za/iron-chelate-100-grams/

We had two horrible syringa trees growing next to our house. In December I decided to remove them and use the space for a vegetable garden.

So far, it is doing really well.

Tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, herbs, mielies, carrots, beans and lots more are all growing like crazy.

Inspect the seedlings. Make sure you've selected strong, pest free plants. Soil prep. Plants need good roots. Dhania is a challenge. Good luck.
