Go all out and stop along the way.

Have a beer with a random spectator, or coffee on the pavement at Hyde Park - you tend to look at the race from another perspective

That is why I like doing the second lap.  Go and have fun.

This year will be my fist year for the second lap. Riding VC then cruising second lap.

Have done the social ride twice before, but never two laps. This year is a first for a double lap.

Any news on the start/finish area - is it finished yet?

Not finished but organisers confident that it will be ready. Maybe they should leave a section of dirt road ala Roubaix?

Rode past there today. its still a loooong way away from being finished.

Also don't under estimate the section out of Riversands where you turn right and head up to Pooks Hill to Summit road. Its a long drag and will split the groups up big time. I did it today into the teeth of a 20km/h North Westerly. Not quite the comfy start of Woodmeaad and the M1...

But at 7am it should be a lot calmer. Same with Summit rd

Hi guys

I have a family member riding this year. He is from the uk, and as a result does not have a seeding. What are the start times of the different charities, so I can get him a better start time?

I see the race profile shows a huge hill like 20km long. Is it as bad as it sounds.

Some insight from the locals will help

The whole race is full of hills! so you'll have to be specific on which section (in the elevation map) you're referring to.

Nothing like that at all.

What you need to take note of is the tough final 20km. Nowhere to hide there. Preparation and fitness will count.
