Had a good day, easy 30 min drive from fourways at 5am and managed good parking!

Started in K, suffered a bit on the early climbs with a stiff thigh and picked up the pace on the M1, rest of the ride was fine until Steyn City Boulevard...what a tough climb that was!!...and even those small little ones to the finish.

Managed a 3.39 which am happy with having been suffering with flu all week.

A few cold beers at the finish, then a slow but not overly so drive back to fourways

My Club had an issue with me dropping from A to D , The whole thing about trusting your training etc (meh)... Anyway, bravely started in A, I felt totally race ready... Nice and early , all set ... Damn that A bunch popped me off in a heartbeat, 190 heartrate and my max is 183... 6km mark, B bunch catches me... Hang on for dear life but still not recovering enough. 15km later C catches me(Cramping like hell already) and D just before Joe Slovo... I was on the extreme left and almost got taken out by a guy passing on my left then switching and touching my front wheel(twice)... double heartattack ... thinking of bailing big time but wife was still asleep. back on the bike .Start getting comfy and picking up pace 70 km mark , I'm alone on the extreme left to grab a water pouch ... Out of the blue i get hit from behind , so Hard i fly over the bars and hit the deck. scrapes and bruises and rear deraileur through the wheel. Ipanelbeat and get going after some patch up but DI2 deraileur is buggered, stuck on 11 ring... needless to say i K@kked from there on ... mechanic gets it onto a 23 and I limp to the finish(Curse that bloody steyn City Drag ... final time 3h48 :wacko:

Kudos for your achievements Guys... some impressive times :thumbup:

Harties bra. Heal up soon. **** happens, but you'd prefer for it not to happen on a day like today I'm sure. Chin up.

Great day. Started at my brother's house in Paulshof for a 13km ride to the start and back, but well worth the ride, we were passing 100's of cars on the way in and out.

Managed a 2h52 out of E with nothing more to give after the mnandi dr climb at the end. Was much harder for me than last year round but still a good ride and very happy that we all kept safe with no crashes or incidents anywhere along the route!

The traffic going in (and back out) was the only real bitch I have for the day. We just made our start group in the nick of time. There was such chaos at the start that I lost 2 of my mates even before the start mat. Ride with 2 others till the climb up to Randburg when they dropped me.

The pedestrians at Ponte made for a a bit of a hairy situation, but I got through without incident.

I had a fun but v tough ride, the Steyn City hill was a real bastard.

4.18 , ffs

There are two ways of doing the 94.7:

You drive the 36 km to the start and as you have an 06hsomething start you can get there, do a gentle 3h15 ride on your road bike sitting in a bunch, drive home for a late breakfast.

OR

You do it on your MTB;

With Nobbly Nics on;

built as a SS;

With a silly ratio so you have to work to get on top of the gear up every hill;

Ride the 36km to the start;

Hang around until 10h00 so you can ride in the heat of the day;

Realize you only have 1 bottle;

Stop and have a Tequila. Have one more. And another one;

Politely ask the tannie You are passing up the last hill to hold her line;

Get told to **** off;

Finish the race;

Grab a cold coke;

Cycle the 36km home;

Arrive home at 16h00;

Have a shower, beer and take your dog for a walk.

Did anyone see that little douchebag next to the road in Douglasdale with his spraypainted sign that read "pussy rubs"?

I did on my second time round, stopped and asked the chicks which one was first.

It seems as if the organisers will have to give some thought to improving the traffic flow coming from the N14, for next year's event. I was lucky that I had an early start and didn't struggle getting in or out. If I exclude the hurt that was dished out on VD's from Witkoppen onwards, I must say that for me it was an all out pleasant experience. :thumbup:

What's up with C batch results? Only 10 names listed.

C batch has been combined with D. Another Racetec brainfart.

Only positive is we all got a 4 minute "discount" on our times.

I'm sure they will fix it eventually
